“There’s not many of your kind around, it’s nice to see you’ve integrated so well you’ve even got a human boyfriend.”
Christ! I choke so hard my drink almost comes out my nose. “We’re not-”
Alex’s arm slinks around me; I’m this far from elbowing him in the face. “We prefer to keep it quiet.”
“Oh,” she winks knowingly. “I understand.”
“Sex once doesn’t count,” I snap when she’s gone.
“Who says it’s only going to be once?”
