Summary: Sage promises herself she’ll break the chain.
Notes: My Treat from Marina. I promise I’ll write more with Rachel a little older but this is what wanted to come out of that prompt. Rachel is Sage and Nate’s third - they have two older boys (Danny and Charlie) too.
Sage held the tiny bundle in her arms. Just looking at Rachel, there was no immediate difference between her and the boys, except Rachel had inherited the family eyes, but Sage felt the difference.
She’d never had a problem with the boys and separating them from her own childhood, but now she wasn’t so sure she would be able to do the same for a girl. Rachel cooed sleepily, staring up at her with those familiar eyes. Sage promised herself, again, then and there, that she would not be her parents. She was better than that and always had been.
