"Hey... what are you doing in here all by yourself...?" Caell said, walking closer towards the shuddering man before him.
Teeth snapped at him to reveal fangs telling him the man wasn't a human. He swallowed and took a few more steps forward.
Brown eyes glared at him. "Stay away from me."
"I'm not going to hurt you..."
"I can't promise the same from me, kid." The creature flinched away.
Caell grinned. "You couldn't hurt me if you tried." He extended a hand. "I'm taking you with me."

Caell rolled his eyes and looked at the vampire he'd dragged back him. "It's a vampire. What does it look like?"
The older hunter grit his teeth. "What is it doing here?"
"He was by himself and starving so I brought him here so just yell at me and get it over with."
"Was starving?! How is he not still starving?"
"I took care of it."
His superior looked like he was going to pop blood vessel. "You're in so much trouble! What if it had killed you?"
"He didn't and I'm alive, so there..."

"It's Caell Tevel..." He crossed his arms. "I don't think I got your name either. You haven't said much since I fed you."
"... It's Bren..."
Caell patted the other on the head. "Nice to meet you Bren."
"What am I your pet?"
He shrugged. "As far as those guys back at HQ are concerned?" He tilted his head in thought. "Yeah you are. So be good and stay out of trouble."

Caell stared as the redhead in front of him shoveled down his. He'd almost wished he hadn't brought Bren with him to the small cafe that stayed open late into the night. He wasn't made out of money, but this was somewhat of a prize for the other staying out of sight of the other hunters.
"You do realize that as a vampire you don't have to eat all of this stuff right?"
"Yeah, but I miss real food. Eating this stuff makes me feel human again."
"Ah..."
"You eating that?"
Caell looked at his plate. He sighed. "Go ahead..."

Bren watched as Caell practiced and trained. The kid was fast. He took out each of the fake targets as soon as he saw them, not pausing for a moment. A hunter was what he'd said he was. And Caell wanted to reach the top.
"So how did I do?"
Bren shrugged. "I don't know. I think some of the other guys were pretty impressive."
Caell frowned and Bren tried not to laugh. "I'm a hundred times better than those other bastards."
"Well do it again and show me." He'd make sure the kid got where he wanted to be.

Bren looked at the disgruntled teen that glared at him.
"I cleaned. What does it look like?" What else had Caell thought he was going to do by himself all day?
"Now I'm never gonna be able to find anything."
Ungrateful brat. Bren was surprised the sixteen year old had even gotten along fine living by himself and surviving in the chaos the place had been in before.
"You'll figure it out." At least the place was clean now. He couldn't live with not being able to see the floor.
