Oh, this was pretty moving and quite well-written as always… I loved the way you portrayed Eleven and Clara here, Clara's quiet presence and how disheartened Eleven felt by the damage. (The term "damage" gave me River thoughts… =P) Their moving closer and the ending lines were perfect… Great job!
It's something I like about Clara a lot, how she sometimes lends the Doctor her support in a very quiet, but understanding way.
Oh River. Have I told you that's who I shipped Eleven with first? Actually, I'm kind of a multi shipper because I still adore her and the Doctor. It's just always been harder for me to ship them because Alex isn't on the show enough for me and the little time difference thing between them doesn't help.
I'm one of those rare people who actually was not the biggest fan of the Ponds, although they had their special moments, but more the Doctor's relationship with River.
But then when I saw Oswin in Asylum of the Daleks I was hooked on her and later Clara of course. And I love Jenna and Matt's chemistry as actors.
So yeah...might have been channeling my River love there a little, not sure.
Thanks so much for your lovely feedback. Appreciated. Hugs!*

Multi-shipping makes sense with Doctor Who. Personally, I only ship the Doctor platonically with companions, because I thought he'd protect himself too much to let things go too far, with Rose for instance-he knows he'll lose them all in the end, so I believe that's a line he wouldn't easily be willing to cross. Oswin didn't really catch me tbh, because she just seemed too… brilliant. The super clever girl who could do anything at all, the shiny little genius. It felt overdone to me-and that's also one of my least favourite parts in River's character (the very beginning of Time of Angels always sort of makes me cringe-I love her like burning, but I'm like, calm the hell down and stop James-Bond-girl-ing us, woman! How smug can you get! XD) I liked her better in Snowmen, if I remember well-and then 7b started and I was utterly in love :D

You're so wonderful for my writing. Drabbles are more challenging for me so to get such lovely feedback means everything. Thank you and hugs back always. I just love this fandom so much. It's lovely. :)
