My first law school final is on Dec 1st. If I think too hard about it, I might vomit. So I study. And study. And study. And rail against the universe for attacking me with gout NOW. I don't see why that boy would be shocked. It's nice to be asked to do things with your classmates. If he can't join you, he'll let you know. And don't assume he isn't interested if he can't go. Definitely ask a second time before you give up. There's only one way to get what you want, and that's to take chances.

No, I don't think he'll be shocked if I ask him to join us, as a group. But if I ask him out on a coffee date? I'm thinking shock is kind of a guarantee.

And thank you! I think they'll be vaguely kind of manageable-ish. We shall see.
