THEY ARE BANNING BL AND ECCHI MANGA (That's not 18+) - such as shonen jump and shoujo manga. (basically NO MORE FANSERVICE) - also they kinda suggest BL might be banned in general. (Oh sure. hentai is okay but not yaoi stuff...) -- also it seems to be TOKYO only? (super confused ( Read more... )

Berserk is already 18+

Soooo uhm. I haven't read HxH in about 4 years. Did it actually get blatant Ecchi or BL content? I mean there was always the whole borderline bromance thing going on between Kurapika/Leorio and Gon/Killua, but it was still just typical shonen stuff.

Now I'm curious.

well err it's borderline

like the joker guy ( i forgot the name) gets a hard-on looking at Gon.

if To Love-Ru is gonna get cancelled, it means ZERO fanservice policy o.o;;;;

Shueisha is pissed and has enough money and influence on the economy in the Tokyo area that I wouldn't be surprised if this gets overturned somehow. Seriously the problem here is not "must protect the children!" but they are actively going to destroy significant parts of their economy if they leave this in place. Akiba will be a ghost town and publishers will move to Osaka taking jobs with them.

Because gay is bad :D

Basically the problem with the laws is the scope. They're very specific to anime/manga and generally stricter than general obscenity laws. It may be a good idea to regulate some aspects of the industry, but these type of laws historically don't work.
