2010 Books Read Poll

Dec 29, 2010 21:41

The list is sparse this year. School really kicked my butt and I tended towards light reading. I really enjoyed the Percy Jackson books and continued my love affair with Laurie Halse Anderson. Some day I will finish the third WOT book so I can move on. It wasn't this year, though. Also, Mouse Guard: SO CUTE.

I haven't read any of those, but I love your userpic and your friends-only banner.

I have the Colbert and have probably read most of it, but I've never sat down to actually "read" it in the chronological sense and have just skipped around. As I'm sure there are bits I've missed, I'm saying I haven't read any of the books.

Not many on your list, but number the stars reminds me that for may years after reading the giver I though it was LUIS and the author was male. Ooops.

I have also read the Terry Pratchett books, just somehow missed ticking them...

feature scenes and place in Kansas City. The YMCA that Lazarus/woodrow wilson smith stayed in is on the Paseo at about 18th St. It was bought by a church, then that failed and now they are trying to make it a community center, There is still a 'ghost sign' (old paint sign) on the north side of the building that IDs it as a YMCA.

TSBTS has more locations, a lot are houses in the Paseo that may or may not still be there.

For those Kansas Citians, that used to be the Upscale part of town, not the gateway to the ghetto .Just saying.

Those are reasons I re-read the books (besides their effect on some of my life choices); I keep getting more familiar with this city and then recognize more of the references. :)

I had no idea, but then it would also be relevant to note that at the time I read the books Kansas City wasn't even on my radar... I guess that means it's time for a re-read.
