History:

Iria was born in a village of Sania. She had three younger siblings and was a mayor’s daughter. Ever since she was little, Iria had strange dreams, that later turned out to be her memories of past life. She was, what people referred to as a “Fallen” - a person with power out of this world (the said power was connected to her past life and let’s add that every one of the Fallen in their past life was a god of Devaloka - a Deva). Fallen were calling themselves “Avatars” and were greatly feared by “ordinary” people, so Iria was told to never show her power in front of others.

Then, one day Arca Organization attacked Sania in hopes to capture Iria. Mathias, the head of Arca, believed that the girl would know the location of the Power of Creation - the Manifest. Iria didn’t know anything though, but she didn’t allow herself to get captured anyway. She fled from the village and traveled on a ship to Regnum. In there she stumbled upon a boy named Luca Milda, that helped. While talking to Luca, Iria was noticed by the followers of Arca. She tried to escape again, but ran into a dead end. Luca tried to tell her, she won’t escape that way, but he was too late. Then the followers of Arca appeared and tried to take Iria away, but fortunately, Luca’s power as an Avatar awakened and he defeated the them.

But then Mathias appeared and Luca exclaimed he’s “the arch-demon Asura” what surprised Iria. Mathias however found the fact very amusing, but she left the two, fearing that using her powers would cause trouble. After what Luca did, it was only a matter of time before the soldiers would came and try to arrest them for being Avatars.

At this point Iria explained to Luca, that dreams of Avatars are their memories of previous life and that she was Inanna (Asura’s lover). She also told him how Mathias attacked her village and after a longer while, the two decided it’ll be best if they leave the city as quickly as possible. From that point on they traveled together in search of other Avatars, hoping that they might find something out about the mysterious Power of Creation.

The journey to Naos, where Iria wanted to meet with a rumored “Holy Maiden” ended with both Iria and Luca caught by strange people, who called themselves the Grigori and had the ability to seal Devic Artes of Avatars. Unable to fight back Luca and Iria were transported to Avatar Laboratory, where they met two other Avatars, Spada and Chitose. Iria seemed to get along with Spada right away, but she just couldn’t bring herself to like Chitose. In fact she could already tell that there’s no way they would ever get along. While Chitose willingly decided to join Arca, because it grants protection to all its followers, the other three (or actually mostly Spada and Iria) refused and were taken to see Oswald, surprisingly, the high officer of Regnum’s military that also seemed to have connection with Arca. Seeing that Luca, Iria and Spada (who turned out to be Durandal, the sword of Asura, in his past life) are capable of fighting, Oswald forced them into the military, sent them to the battlefield and ordered to defeated Garam’s troops.

In the battlefield Iria planned to escape, but her plan failed miserably right away. With no other choice but to fight, she teamed up with Luca and Spada, making fun of Luca when he complained or started to panic. The soldiers that the three fought turned out to be also Avatars that held a grudge against Asura. At some point Luca got carried away, to the point that he started laughing at the soldiers’ death. This angered Iria and she yelled at him, making him realize what he was doing. But then Chitose appeared out of nowhere and Iria couldn’t just help, but feel she dislikes that girl more and more every time she sees her. But the fact that so many of the soldiers hated Asura even in their current life made Iria wonder what would happen if she met someone who was connected to her in her previous life.

Meanwhile, the camp was attacked by a mercenary named Ricardo. After a short batlle, the mercenary let the three go, saying that battlefield is not a place for children. Also, a man named Hasta appeared making a really bad impression on Iria.

In any case, the three managed to get away and, surprisingly, Chitose came to say goodbye... to Luca actually. Iria was mad, but Spada stopped her from doing anything. Then Chitose kissed Luca on the cheek and that was enough for Iria to get seriously pissed off.

After escaping from the camp they headed to Naos, only to find out that the Holy Maiden Ange was taken to Naos Base, because she tried to save the church from bandits and used her powers, destroying the Cathedral in the end. Upon leaving Naos to search for Ange, Luca asked if Iria and Spada want to come back home. At this Iria said she’s not going back, but she understand if Luca wants to do so. She really was sorry for dragging him into all of this and she even started crying, thinking that Luca will leave. But he didn’t. He promised he’ll stay with her.

Inside Naos Base they found something horrifying. Captured Avatars were used there for experiments with some kind of new weapon. As it was later revealed, their lives where energy source for it. The thought that someone could use Avatars like that made both Luca and Iria angry. Later, it turned out that Holy Maiden Ange was also used in the experiments, but they manage to save her and convince her that she shouldn’t be blaming herself for what happened to the Cathedral in Naos. Eventually Ange joined them, revealing that in the past she was Orifiel, the strategist.

They tried to escape from Naos base, but they were stopped by Ricardo, who this time was sent to bring Ange to a person named Albert. Ange persuaded him with valuables and so Ricardo joined the group as Ange’s bodyguard.

After some time they headed to Regnum again to look for more information. They split out into small groups and met again in Spada’s hideout in the sewers, after Luca caused quite a commotion in the city. Of course, Iria scolded him for this.

In Spada’s hideout they met a little girl named Hermana, that was orphaned because of the war. The group was soon back together and while helping Hermana they found a memory circle, a device that could return the memories of their past. After stepping on it and witnessing a scene from Devic Era, Hermana also turned out to be able to see it, stating that she is Vrtra, the dragon who raised Asura.

Traveling all over the world they tried to find other memory circles, but with each one they had even more questions than answerers. Iria also suffered from headaches, wondering at the same time if there’s something she has to remember but she doesn’t want to.

In Ashihara, the group encountered Chitose that told them that the world is in ruins because Inanna betrayed Asura. Iria was shocked hearing this, but then Luca told Chitose he doesn’t believe neither Arca nor Chitose herself.

Afer that they continued their traveled to other cities. In Tenos they found out that the Manifest is held in the Sky Castle and using an airship borrowed from Albert (a noble from Tenos), they headed to the Castle. Unfortunately, Mathias was quicker than them. But theat wasn’t the most important back then. In the Sky Castle, the truth about the past was finally revealed. Asura wished for uniting the two worlds; the world of Devas - Devaloka and the world of humans Naraka. In order to achieve that he gained the Manifest and was planning to use it. However, believing that uniting Devaloka and Naraka will cause chaos and wars, Inanna took Durandal and stabbed Asura in the back, when he was about to activate the power of the Manifest. Betrayed by his beloved, Asura in his rage broke Durandal in two and killed Inanna, the three of them died together and became the statue in Sky Castle. It seemed that the power of Manifest no longer controlled by anything, destroyed Devaloka.

Hearing all of this shocked greatly both Luca and Iria. Though, it might be better to say that it shocked Luca the most. He started to blame himself for what happened, causing his power to activate and destroy the Sky Castle in process. Iria tried to do something, she yelled to him, but he no longer could hear her. There was nothing they could do to stop him. Ricardo hurried the party out of the Sky Castle, before the building collapsed. They all escaped to the village of Sania.

In there, Iria waited, believing that Luca will be okay in the end and when she finally saw him again, the first thing he said was apologize for everything that happened. At that, Iria replied that he has nothing to apologize for. As the party was together again, they decided to head to the Tower of Dawn to stop Mathias from using the Manifest to destroy the world.

After they left Sania, Hermana remembered that in fact Devaloka wasn’t destroyed, but it was not completely reunited with Naraka. The reason was that both Asura and Inanna killed someone they loved the most, the sacrifice activated Manifest, but since they wished for the opposite Devaloka was only in half united with Naraka. When Iria started to say that it was her fault after all, Luca cheered her up and said the exactly same words she told him when he felt it was his fault. They all agreed that those memories where actually something to help them fix the mistakes they did long ago, but they couldn’t forget that they are completely different from their past life now and they shouldn’t be bound to it.

In the Tower of Dawn they first defeated Hasta once and for all, then fought Oswald. After that there was only Mathias left and their journey would be finally over.

Personality:

First of all, Iria is incredibly quick-tempered and hot-headed. She can get angry over almost anything and when she does, she tends to yell, stomp or walk off offended. In fact even if a person she knows for a quite a long time tells her something that will upset her, she can yell at them and leave them in the middle of the street. Or she won’t even tell them why she’s angry and just exclaimed that everything is alright. She can even get angry when someone asks her if she’s okay!

But Iria is not only quick to get angry, she is also quick to act, even if she sometimes not exactly knows what to do or where to go. The best example for this how Iria tells Luca that they both should go to Naos, but after going for a while she asks him if he knows where this is. At that Luca replies that he thought she was leading.

Iria is also incredibly bossy and determined and definitely not a good person to lead a bigger group. She doesn’t like when someone is disagreeing with her and when they try to talk back, it can make her angry, but she gets even more angry when someone doesn’t want to listen to her. Ignoring what she says is also a really bad idea.

Iria is definitely lacking patience and she can get selfish and mean at times, too. But most of this is caused by the fact that she just doesn’t know how to express her feeling towards others. Or actually, she doesn’t know how to tell someone she likes them and she usually ends up getting angry at the instead. But even though she can yell at them and tell them how stupid they are for doing something and then tease them about this forever, Iria’s friends are always her friends. And she truly cares about them. If something horrible would happen to them, she would do anything to help them or cry, hoping that they would be okay in the end. But of course, Iria would rather never ever allow herself to cry in front of others. And even if she did actually start to cry, she would deny it and tell them that sand just got into her eyes.

And in fact Iria is always trying to look tough. She’s always doing her best and never gives up. But if the situation gets too complicated or dangerous, she can consider feeling. Like when she was send to the battlefield with Luca and Spada.

Being raised in a village that looks like a place straight from some Western-movie, Iria never went to school (there wasn’t one in her village) and knows no luxury. Helping out her parents or other things like that was the only thing she did at home. But even though she never got a proper education and even though you definitely can’t say she’s the brightest crayon in the box, Iria knows that education is important, which is a reason why she dreams of building a school in Sania and becoming the headmaster of it.

Though she’s definitely not a type to do anything for money, Iria can get greedy when they’re involved and at the same time she doesn’t know how much is actually “a lot”. In a skit when she exclaims that they’re rich, Spada brings her down, saying that the money they have now will be gone once they’ll buy equipment, medicine, etc. Iria also has a rather hilarious vision of rich people, thinking that they’re swimming in money. It doesn’t really help that her two first companions (Luca and Spada) were both from rich families. She can actually exclaim to them “excuse me for being a redneck” or calls the two “young master” to tease them. She prefers to call Spada that though, because Spada gets angry when she calls him that and Iria finds it amusing that someone like him is actually from a noble family.

But Iria doesn’t really care much who is who. Nobles, kings, children, old people, poor people - none of this has any meaning to her. Iria will treat them and talk to all of them the same. She might be even a bit more arrogant towards a person of higher social status. She also doesn’t pay much attention to being polite with anyone - in fact she is only speaking politely when she’s extremely angry at someone. So, if you hear her suddenly sounding all nice and polite, that means it’s better for you to run or hide.

When you’ll get to know Iria better you’ll find out that she’s quite a cheerful girl that also loves teasing everyone. Especially if they’re easy to tease. Her favorite target is Luca, but towards him, Iria’s teasing often turns into “bullying”. Teaming up with Spada in this can bring poor Luca to tears. And if that happens Iria can go to him and tell him she was only joking, or check out on him to see if he’s going to be okay. She can be mean, but she’s not heartless! She also knows perfectly well that there are things she better never tease some of her teammates about, but even despite this, she can sometimes say too much without meaning to do so. Results differ. If it’s teasing Luca about his weakness, things might be fixed pretty easily, but teasing Ange about her weight... that is certainly one thing Iria would never ever do. She know all too well, that if she did, she would literally step on a landmine.

Another thing is Iria’s past life. Iria absolutely hates Inanna and she can’t stand a fact that she was that kind of person in the past. Also, due to all that big love Inanna had for Asura, Iria can’t imagine herself being a love-smitten girl. Or perhaps I should say that she can’t stand such an image. And now combine this with the fact that she doesn’t know how to tell someone she likes them...

And the truth is that Luca is the most influenced of what was stated above. Because he has a crush on Iria and Iria knows about it (his crush is so obvious after all). On the other hand Iria also has some feelings for him ad definitely likes him, but as she says in the conversation with Spada she doesn’t want to get in some kind of shallow relationship, especially not with Luca. So in the end every time Luca is nice to her, she gets angry at him. Every time he tries to do something to get along with her better, she gets angry. Every time he talks with Chitose, Iria gets super angry and jealous. But she would never ever admit she’s jealous. Never. Because why would she be jealous when that girl talks to some weak-willed bookworm?

And so we get a rather complicated situation in which the boy can’t confess his feeling because he’s afraid of getting rejected and the girl won’t tell him she cares about him a lot, because she’s too stubborn to do so and doesn’t really want to “fall in love”.

But no matter what, the two do get along and Iria knows that she has a great friend in him.

Strengths:

Being an Avatar Iria can use the Devic Artes. She can use ice/water magic, as well healing and supporting spells. She is also a gunman, agile and with a very good aim. Shooting quickly from her two pistols, she’s able to hold the enemy on distance. Another thing is that she can also change into Inanna to perform her Mystic Arte - Ruined Vain Wish that wrecks havoc on the battlefield.

She’s definitely not the smartest, but Iria always knows what she wants. She has a strong sense of herself, even if she was shocked about what Inanna did and even took it as her own fault, she could never say that she identifies herself with her past life. Iria is just herself and she lives now, not in a world of daydreams or in the past. She is also always able to put the past behind and stay strong no matter what. And even if something will cause her to cry or will make her depressed, she’ll raise out of it. After all, what’s done is done, and she has no intention to whine about it.

Iria is strong-willed and she isn’t afraid neither to speak up her mind not to fight. She also cares deeply for those around her, even though she doesn’t show that a lot.

Weaknesses:

Iria is not suited more close-combat. She is rather weak (though still stronger than a normal person due to being an Avatar) and without support of her team members she could have some trouble fighting alone. It has to be also noted that on a boat Iria always gets seasick. Though, after traveling almost whole world on boats, she doesn’t get as much seasick as before, but she still hates boats and would rather avoid them if possible.

As I mentioned earlier, Iria is not the smartest. Or, actually she is... pretty stupid. Having gained no education at all, she hardly has any idea how it is to go to school. And even though she knows education is important, she isn’t exactly eager to learn anything herself. If someone is explaining something to her, the more complicated the matter is or the longer they explain it, the less she will understand or remember from this. She is also hopeless at remembering complicated names or words and generally finds long lectures extremely boring. Reading tones of books? No, definitely not. As Iria says “she can’t lift anything heavier than a fork”. Though, that excuse didn’t seem to work, when they were in Naos’ Cathedral library. Iria also can’t understand how come there are people who like reading and don’t like exercises. And the long conversation Luca and Ange sometimes have make her head hurt, because she often doesn’t understand half of what they’re talking about.

Another thing is that her terrible temper is something that makes her seem difficult to deal with. She can be mean most of the time, even to her friends and gets angry really easily. But, usually it’s better not to put too much of a mind to her getting angry. On the other hand, you really wouldn’t want to get on her bad side and once she makes up her opinion about someone, it’s often very difficult to change it.

Samples

First Person:

Hello? Can anyone hear me? I demand answers. Like, right now!

What is this place? How did I get here? If they think - whoever they are - that they can kidnap me and get away with this, they’re wrong! And what’s up with these wings? They're creepy... this place is creepy. Ugh, and I don’t even have time to be stuck in some weird, creepy place like this!

And where is everyone? They better not leave me here alone!

...By the way, anyone seen a wimpy, silver-haired guy around here somewhere?

...

Seriously, can anyone even hear me?!

...This place is so annoying...

Third Person:

This was definitely not something she expected. Just a moment ago she was standing together with everyone, on the highest floor of the Tower of Dawn, ready to fight Mathias and end all of this once and for all. That was supposed to be their final battle.

Her eyes opened and she winced slightly, as she pushed herself up. The scenery before her was just wrong. It wasn’t the Tower of Dawn... no, it was nowhere she should be now. So how did she get here? If she only knew.

“...Oww... Where am I?” She asked herself trying to stand up.

But something else wasn’t right. Her back ached and felt somewhat heavier... She reached to it and with a shock discovered that now... wait, were those wings? She had wings now?

“You’ve got to be kidding me...” She said with her eyes wide as she made sure she is not imagining anything. The wings really were there. And they were her wings, no matter how weird it sounded. “ This can’t be happening! I can’t have wings!”

None of this was making sense. Just where was she now? And what happened? When it happened?

“This has to be... a dream or something.”

Except she didn’t recall falling asleep.

The last thing she remembered was that she was going to fight Mathias, after all.

So what did that mean? Was she kidnapped? Or maybe arrested? She never fought Mathias - she doesn’t remember fighting her after all. So maybe they fell into a trap? But where was everyone? Where they safe? She had so many question right now, but she knew that just standing here wasn’t a going to help her now. She had to find someone and ask what happened. And find the rest of her team. And then find the person responsible or all of this and make them regret they were ever born.
