Aoi hana, kagami
The present was already waiting by her table. It was a blue flower in a small flower pot with a card attached to it.
The card read, “Gomen ne. Aishiteru. Matte masu. ^_^.(i'm sorry, I love you. i'll wait.)”
She smiled and held back her tears. She heard him coming in and felt his presence as he stood just a few feet behind her. Her tears flowed freely now.
“Rin-chan…” he started.
“Daijoubu. I’m fine.” She tried to say as coldly as she could, still not turning around.
“No you’re not. Your face is filled with tears.” He said. She was surprised and looked up. There in front of her, just a few distances away, was a mirror reflecting the both of them. It also reflected all her resolves at that moment. She saw him move closer behind her, his eyes fixed on hers until he finally wrapped her in his arms.
“Nakunai de.(don't cry)” He said after a while, turning her around to wipe the tears from her cheeks.
“Suki da yo. Hontou ni.(I love you, I mean it.)” She hugged him. “I’ve never really truly meant those words until now. I didn’t want to say it halfheartedly back then. When you met that accident, I hated myself, I thought I’d never have the chance to say those words to you and then when you woke up, you were a different person, one who doesn’t have me in his mind. I thought my chances in love were destroyed just when I finally got the courage to face my feelings head on so I tried my best to make you remember me but you…” she to trailed off. “Anata hontou ni baka da ne.(You really were stupid.)” she finished, then added, “Watashi mo(me too). Sorry for making you wait this long.”
“I guess I deserved to wait but it was definitely worth it.”He agreed and laughed with her. She held the flower gift and looked at it. “Instead of a bouquet of flowers, I thought this is better, sort of like “love”, if you cherish it and take care of it, it would surely bloom and not wither.” he said.
“I like it.” She replied. “Did those two tell you about it?”
“Eh? Eto, Dita wouldn’t tell me, Jin gave me a hint though but Dita made him pay for it.” Nino admitted. “Still, it wasn’t easy looking for that certain flower. I thought Jin was just exaggerating.”
“Are you complaining?” Rin raised her eyebrows.
“Iya, betsuni.(nothing) I didn’t say anything.” He defended quickly.
“Thought so. Ja, I’ll forgive you. Merry Christmas.” She gave him a quick peck on the lips.
“Yokatta…(I'm relieved.)Merry Christmas.” He replied deepening the kiss.
