Sons and Daughters
Summary: Having sons means a lot of umm...well, let's just say,
there's never a boring day. Of course, having 12 rowdy boys tops
that off the chart.
It can't be help thought, for any girl,woman or mom, for her to
wish to have daughters to be all girly with... nonetheless, it all
depends on how you look at it. ^_._^
because when it comes right down to it, being a mom, having children
who grew up well is the best feeling there is. :)
A special shout out to a very special mother who gave birth on a
manger one silent night. A mother who gave her all in taking care of
her son despite knowing that he'll be taken away from her someday soon.
A/N: weee~~~ I really really had fun daydreaming about this and what more,
writing this down. It was one of those that got me thru my everyday hectic
graveyard work schedule.
I miss writing about these 12 loveable boys. This fic was the 3rd of the
three when-inspiration-struck kind of fic. The 2nd fic was already poset
but the first one is still stuck on my notebook.
I'm actually writing this while I'm at work. The beauty of being idle. ^_._^
I can't remember the number of times when I was caught by someone grinning
or giggling by myself like a fool as the story took shape.
Well, I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it.
It's my holiday special. Some way to cheer up after the calamity that has
struck us.
Sons and Daughters
"ne~ what do you think is wrong with mom?" Mir asked his brothers as he
observed their mother from afar.
"I don't know, Why do you say something's wrong with her?" Jaejin followed
Mir's gaze and found their mother watching wistfully at what appears to be
a mother and her two daughters happily shopping for clothes.
"Do you think Mom wants to have daughters instead of sons?" Dongwoon wondered
out loud.
"Now why would mom think that?" Yoseob asked appearing out of the blue.
"Well, for one thing, you can just see from the way she gazes at them." Kanata
pointed out.
"How long have you two been here?" Mir asked, surprised at their sudden intrusion.
"A couple of minutes." was all that the two muttered in reply.
"Hmm, I can understand why Mom would feel that way. After all, we came here
together but in the end we all went off by ourselves." Jaejin commented.
The 5 eldest are currently lounging at a cafe somewhere in the mall, taking
a break from going around the various stalls, checking some gadgets etc.
"Where are the youngsters then?" Yoseob asked everyone at large.
"Taemin, Yuto, Sungjong, and Ryunosuke (Kamiki) are at the arcade while Dongho,
Kwangmin and Youngmin are probably at the toy store ogling the latest game
consoles." Dongwoon recalled, taking mental note that he's able to count everyone.
"ah~~~~" there was an awkward silence as their memories took them back to the
beginning of that day at the mall.
Earlier at home that day, they were all lazying around, having nothing much
to do since it's the holidays and so their mother had invited them to go malling
with her, which includes shoppping and preparing for the upcoming occasion.
But as soon as they arrived at the mall, each of them took of on their own,
whisked away by all the facinating objects around.
"What, You guys have a plan?" Mir turned to the oldest two, Kanata and Yoseob,
who were talking to each other in low murmurs.
"Maybe." Kanata grinned.
"Right, let's go get the youngsters." Yoseob stood and faced his puzzled
brothers with the same mischievous grin.

The 5 went to the arcade first and found all 7 of their younger brothers there.
Yuto, with the drums, Ryunosuke, with the bass guitar, and Dongho, with the
electric guitar, are having a band session and topping the scores while the
rest were having a dance battle.
Taemin vs. Kwangmin, Sungjong vs. Youngmin are competing in doubles on the
dance machine.
The older brothers joined the crowd who had gathered around to watch them play.
They waited for one more round before calling them out.
Sungjong, having sensed something uncanny by his older brothers' odd actions,
tried to escape was no sooner caught by Mir.
Finally, with everyone present, they huddled up to disseminate their plan.

She was just about to go but whne she stood up, she noticed that some people
were staring towards her direction. Puzzled, she looked around her and when
she turned, she saw five pretty girls right behind her.
They were wearing colourful outfits that were well coordinated from head to
toe, froms wigs to shoes.
"Hi Mom!" Yuto who was dressed in red greeted her in a high pitched voice.
"We've been looking for you." Ryunosuke, in a chic black outfit, added in
the same tone as his brother.
"Let's go shopping Mom!" Sungjong, in an all pink one-piece short skirt,
grabbed her arm.
"Yes, Let's!" Taemin agreed, taking her other arm. He was dressed in a baby
blue skinny jeans and white top.
"Mom?" Dongho waved his hand in front of her face making her blink. He was
wearing a purple school-uniform styled outfit.
She was confused and bewildered as to what she was seeing in around her. She
doesnt know where to begin. She looked them up once more in silence, making
them feel uncomfortable despite their appearance.
It was then that she noticed Youngmin and Kwangmin peeking behind Yuto and
Ryunosuke. They were wearing a matching rainbow outfit and curious expression
as they observed her reaction.
Seeing their blush-red faces, due perhaps to embarrassment, she covered her
mouth and pretended to clear her throat.
"Did she just laugh?" Kwangmin whispered to his twin.
"Don't you like it, Mom?" Youngmin tuck a starnd of the wig from covering
his eyes as he and his twin stepped out from behind their older brothers.
"No---no, no,no. You all look so adorable, in fact, I was really mesmerized."
she assured them.
Just as she was wondering how they ended up looking like that, she spotted
her 5 older sons spying on them from behind some of the stalls, unaware that
they've been found.
She got an idea and turned to her new 'daughters'. "Alright, how does pizza
and ice cream sound?" she beamed at them. "then, afterwards, let's get shopping."
she paused before adding in a much louder tone,"I'll grant you one special gift
each. Girls only." she finished, emphasizing the last two words for the other 5
to hear.
the 7 with her, cheered.
"Any gift we want?" the twins asked, thinking of the latest game console they
saw earlier.
"Umm, we'll talk about the terms and conditions later." she replied after some
thought.
The rest were also lost in thought as they wondered what they would like to buy.
"These heels aren't so bad." Sungjong commented out of the blue, pulling his
brother's thoughts back to reality.
"Speak for yourself." Dongho grumbled, limping a bit as he walked in his pinchy
shoes.
Everyone laughed.

Halfway thru their meals and a few melting Ice creams later... 5 more girls
joined the family, coupled with jeering from the 7.
"Welcome to the club girls." Taemin teased not even bothering to hide his
amusement.
"Hear! hear!" Yuto tapped his glass with his fork, calling more attention from
the other diners who were already staring at them.
"I can get used to this." Ryunosuke added with a playful smirk as he looked his
older brothers up and down.
"Get used to it yourself." the older brothers erm, sisters retorted as the scoot
in beside their younger siblings.
Unknowingly, their mother had been taking secret snaphots of them for umm,
souvenirs. But of course, like mother like sons, the boys/girls also had taken a
picture of each other for um,future references.
"Now, now girls, ladies should be prim and proper when eating." their mother
reminded with a hint of sarcasm as she choke on her laughter.
"Yes, mother." the boys replied in a serious lady-like tone before all of them
burst out laughing.

As promised, everyone went shopping once they were full. Their embarrassment
lessened as they fooled around mimicking the ladies they see as they shopped.
Finally, with everyone having gotten their one-wish granted, they headed back
to the arcade to give a special performance, as a thank you.
They presented a mini live concert.
First with the accompaniment, Jaejin and Ryunosuke were playing the bass guitars,
Kanata and Dongho were handling the electric guitars, Dongwoon handled the
keyboard while Yuto took care of the beat with the drums.
For the main vocal, Yoseob was hitting the high notes while Mir did the rap
parts and to complete, Taemin, Sungjong, Kwangmin and Youngmin were dancing to
the rhythm.
A huge round of applause and cheers erupted from the gathered crowd as soon as
they finished with a bang and their mother could not be any more proud, being
their no.1 fan.
