summary: Changmin and Rui are neighbors since kids and when Chiharu, Rui's cousin, moved to the neighborhood, they've been a trio since. Being older, Changmin doted on the two. However, as they grew up, Changmin and Chiharu developed feelings for each other, leaving Rui to herself.
A/N: lol, I haven't written anything in a while, I forgot how to start and post this story~ :P well, I think I did alright though~ I don't know what else to say about this fic. but I was hit with inspiration and will to write one so... ja douzo!
At the forest park...
"Oppa!" Rui called for the 3rd time.
"Hm?" Changmin finally looked up from his phone.
"Were you listening to me at all?" Rui asked, exasperated. "You were sending messages to Haru-chan again weren't you?" she added, peering at his phone.
"Huh? umm...." Changmin hastily tucked his phone in his pocket.
"Never mind." Rui gave up and continued, "as I was saying, he's coming back toda---"
"Oppa! Rui-chan!" Chiharu came up to them, interrupting her.
"Oh hi, Haru-chan!" Rui greetd, half -smiling.
"Yo!" Changmin gave Chiharu a peck on the cheek making her blush.
"What were you chatting about?" Chiharu asked enthusiastically.
"Oh yeah, who's back?" Changmin chimed in.
"No one." Rui retorted and walked off furiously.
"Oi, Rui-chan, what's wrong?" Chiharu called after her, bewildered.
"Wait up!" Changmin went to chase after her but Rui ran away by then, leaving the couple exchanging worried looks.
"We have to look for her." Chiharu suggested, Changmin agreed.

Somewhere in the deeper part of the park...
"Found you."
Surprised, Rui looked up and saw him smiling at her from the entrance of her hiding place.
"Hongki-chan?" her eyes adjusted to the bright light pouring in. "You're back!" she cried, hugging him.
"Un. yosh..yosh..You always hide whenever you're upset." Hongki placed one arm around her, the other, patting her head.
"and you're the one who've always found me." she replied gratefully with muffled voice as she buried her face on his chest. "I'm glad you're back." she smiled, despite the tears.
"Me too." Hongki held her at arms length and looked at her straight in the eyes, "Now tell me what happened? I passed by Changmin-hyung and Chiharu-chan. I overheard them calling out your name, in worried tone." He inquired, wiping the tears from her cheeks.
Rui returned from her previous spot, deeper into her hiding place, a hollow space between two large trees. "Let them look all they want." she pouted.
"Hm? Did you fight or something? You're close to them right?" Hongki followed and scooted beside her.
"They're closer to each other now." she replied simply and sighed before continuing, "Ever since the confession, they don't include me anymore. I even supported them then." she sniffed. "Before Changmin oppa would play with me and Chiharu would come to visit as well but ever since we entered highschool, they've been hanging out by themselves." she complained then reverted to indifference, "Well, I won't care anymore. I'm gonna stay here no matter what." she wrapped her arms around her knees and held 'em closer to her.
"I see..." Hongki listened to her quietly the leaned back.
"Aren't you going to persuade me to come out?" Rui turned to him, a bit taken aback.
"Hmm..." Hongki thought for a while. "Maybe later. I want to stay with you longer." he cocked his head towards her.
"You're funny." She laughed despite her surprise at his words. "I missed you." she leaned on his shoulder.
They sat in silent contentment for a while.
"Then again, don't you love Changmin-hyung and Chiharu-chan? I'm sure they love you too. they're worried about you." he decided afterwards.
"In the end you couldn't help it huh." she chuckled.He laughed as well, scratching his the top of his nose.
"I do love them." she agreed. "But I love you more Hongki-chan."
When was it? When he found me? No, it was way before that...
He gulped. She had stated it without batting an eyelash.
"I love you more too."
Way before you realized it...

Back at the clearing...
"There you are!" Chiharu ran up to them.
"We've been looking all over the park for you." Changmin caught up.
"Umm, I'm sorry for throwing a tantrum earlier..." Rui said apologetically,lowering her head.
"It's okay. we realized it's partly our fault." Chiharu waved her hand.
"Yeah. But don't run off like that again." Changmin added sternly. Chiharu shook her head.
"Hai." Rui obeyed.
"Oh, Hongki-chan, when did you get back?" Chiharu turned to him. It was then that she noticed Rui and Hongki's linked hands.
"Ah, just a while ago." Hongki replied.
"Were you together this whole time?" Changmin eyed the two suspiciously.
"umm..."
"Come with me for a minute." Changmin grabbed Hongki's arm and tried to pull him, but the younger one didn't budge.
"It's alright hyung. I'll take care of Rui from now on." Hongki announced with determination as he looked at his hyung.
"What he said." Rui said in response to the two's puzzled expressions.
The older couple just sighed in surrender.
"Well, be sure to take good care of her then." Changmin ruffled both of their hairs.
"Mou, Oppa! I'm not a kid anymore." Rui protested while Hongki just smiled, relieved.
"Oh yeah? Who was it that played hide and seek today then?" Changmin challenged.
"It's all because you two don't pay attention to me anymore." Rui retorted.
"We're sorry." Chiharu said and nudge Changmin's side.
"Right, I'll make it up to you." Changmin agreed.
"No, Thank you. I have Hongki-chan now." Rui wrapped her arms around Hongki's arm.
"Sorry Hyung." Hongki scratched the back of his head and smiled.
"Let's go oppa. It seems we're not needed here anymore." Chiharu took Changmin's hand when he looked down in the dumps.
"We were going to treat you guys to celebrate Hongki-chan's homecoming and all that." Chiharu added as she and Changmin turned to leave.
"Eh? Wait up!" Rui called out, as she and Hongki chased after the other couple who started running.
