Ninth Shot
Another year has passed. It was almost Christmas.
I just arrived at the café for work that day.
I was the first to arrive.
The inside was dimly lit by the Christmas lights.
When I opened the door I noticed a pathway made of blue balloons, my favorite color. The balloons floated up as I passed by each pair. The path led to the center of the room where a big white teddy bear was sitting in a chair. It had a blue ribbon on its neck with a gold bell hanging at the center. On its tummy were the words “HUG ME”. I hugged it and a song played,

So beautifully radiant, my bride
A gift from God

Tears fall from your dark eyes
Until your dark hair turns white

“Huh?” I was startled.
I turned to face him.
“Will you marry me?” he sang the line from the song.
I laughed.
“I do.” I answered looking through his eyes.
He slipped a silver ring with a blue crystal at the middle into my ring finger and hugged me. “Saranghae.”
Everyone started coming, clapping their hands and congratulating us.
