Non-standard

Mac Quad-core G5 doesn't take 'standard' Airport Extreme card.

Sales n00b doesn't know the difference. Sales n00b doesn't know what a quad-core G5 is when instructed.

Please roast them slowly for me, kithal. I can pay :(

apple, idiot

Oooohkay, like I said when we walked out of the store the first time - if the fellow at the store has no idea what a "quad core G5" is and tries to inform you that such a machine!does!not!exist!, and considering said store is meant to "specialise" in Apple products, I would not trust another word spewing forth from fellow's mouth let alone what may come out of his brain. QED.

Is this a mutually frequented store? Any name you want to drop so that Kithal knows what to go for?

(Al asks if you're simply after the adapter thingy so you can put in the extreme card)

(Now Caryn wonders why she would know such things considering she knows very little about Apple products...)

Unfortunately in hindsight we should have asked his name, but well there were two of them and the _other_ guy was a Syrian guy, and the fellow in question was a smaller built fellow if that narrows it down at all -_-;; We would certainly recognise him again (and we'll have to since said purchased product will now have to be brought back in exchange for a compatible equivalent). Also in hindsight we should have double checked what we needed before we came in but lesson learnt I suppose :\

We're actually after the AirPort Extreme with Bluetooth 2.0+EDR card, since the G5 quads needs the "special" extreme card which is apparently different to the normal "oh Apple provide generic hardware for everything, so this will definitely work" card. Other question we'd prefer to come from a more reliable source - can we install the card ourselves or do we need to bring it in for Jeremy to avoid voiding our AppleCare warranty, since we were assured "you can definitely install it yourself and not void the warranty" from previously mentioned ( ... )
