Would you believe me if I told you I disliked Phelps more than you do?

Short version- Phelps has been picketing some Boston-area gay rights/GSA organisations, and this dude decided to have a "Phelps-A-Thon" in which they gather pledges for every minute that Phelps and company picket, and then donate the money to the organisation being picketed.

Then they send Phelps a thank-you card for helping them raise x dollars for the organisation.

I don't understand how a person can be so full of hate...

Hate is easy; Love is hard. Love requires you to accept the idea that other people, who believe very different things than you do, are still human beings. Hate only asks you to do exactly what you want to do. You never have to explore unfamiliar territory with hate. With love, you have to every moment.

People like this hateful bastard are the kind of people that make my leery of mentioning that I'm a Christian.

Interestingly enough he has to apply quotes from the old testament which is only supposed to be giving to Christians as context.

Christ, as evidenced by the documentation of his life (however manipulated and flawed it might be), was all about inclusion and would probably be just as disgusted by this hate mongering idiot as he is by anyone that's not exactly the same as him.

People should definately be banding together in whatever way they can to crush hatemongers. No matter what denomination a person is, or even if they are of no denomination whatsoever, everybody should have recognized by now that hate can, and most likely will kill us all unless we can stop it in its tracks.

(puts soapbox away)

Happy to see that some people are trying to stop stupid hate mongers :)

Um, even the Jews, who DO follow the "old testament" don't buy that hatemongering crap. At least, most of them don't.
