The book the idea is kind of based on is a set of poems which each have a mirror image: one poem is bright and happy, innocent, and the other is darker and cynical and about experience. And since Rumbelle's story is all about them being bright, happy, and innocent right until the kiss, and then it's all angst and darkness, it seemed to work.

All I Wanted is one of my favourite songs, and it could be Belle's anthem!

Yes, I'm aware. I'm a great reader of Blake, he is my preferred choice of the romantic poets. The parallel you've drawn between his work and Rumbelle is lovely.
