Art of my fave Het pairing in FMA, Alphonse and Winry - such a better pairing than EdWin. Much less abusive (c'mon, the way Win treats Ed IS abusive) and their personalities actually blend well. I think Al's calm and sweet attitude would do wonders for Winry

Cute picture. But I disagree that Winry is abusive. Or if you call her abusive, you should also call 88% of all the characters abusive (what's with Izumi throwing a knife at Ed or a bed a 9/10-year old Ed and Al, Hughes pointing a gun at 3-year old children, Edward blindly attacking everyone who called him short, Mustang throwing tons of soldiers, who didn't do anything wrong ten meters high into the air with his flame explosions in the flame vs. fullmetal gaiden, Riza shooting on a puppy and Al hitting Ed because he doesn't allow him to keep a cat or kicking after him when he laughs about his dream to eat apple pie).

Just needed to get that out. Still cute picture. I'm a fan of AlxWinry(much better than AlxMei).

Haha, I think those are pretty abusive too actually XD; Especially the Izumi thing. I suppose violence like that is meant to be funny, but when it physically damages a character for no decent reason, then I can't say I find it all that humorous.

Winry does it often enough for me to take it seriously, I guess. Making someone bleed over a stupid reason as 'you didn't call before you came' is pretty awful in my opinion. Or the fact that she's often seen to value Eds automail more than Ed himself? Not the best grounds for a healthy relationship, I think :(

Ahaha. He/she wrote a reasonable opinion. I wouldn't want to "hide behind anon" on his/her place. Maybe not everyone have an account on LJ? :) I bet some people came here from dA and maybe just felt like commenting. Just like me. I have an account, though ;)

Thank you! It's about time somebody (other than me!) said that! :) All those times when she's bashed his brains out for every trivial thing - not calling, not telling her anything, waking her up from her beauty sleep, scratching her automail - yeah, DEFINITELY not a good foundation for any kind of relationship. :p

P.S. "Anonymous" here should have manned up and signed in before bitching, I mean, "critiquing" your pic. *is annoyed* >.>

Indeed - no kind of relationship should have violence like that, and we all know it wouldn't stop after they got together at the end of the manga. If Ed did the same thing back to her, fans would turn on him SO fast - (but we all know Ed would never do that) and yet people think its just cute when Winry does it.

I don't see how hurting someone like that over such stupid reasons (for any reason at ALL, really) is cute or funny. I just don't get it. People say they're in love, but seriously... who in their right mind would hurt their loved one like that? Its awful, in my opinion. Not to mention that she seems to care more about his automail than Ed himself!

Their personalities clash too much. They're both passionate, loud and stubborn. Together they're a mess - arguments and violence. I think they'd both be much better with someone calmer and more mature... like Roy and Alphonse.

But there's always those who disagree, and thats fine. I guess they don't mind the whole domestic violence thing about EdWin :/
