The moment she found herself in possession of her own body again, Illyria departed the house without bothering to inform anyone of the matter. There were more important matters, and she hardly wanted to discuss having been a kitten. Nor anything else, for that matter.
She walked into the TARDIS with a look of fierce determination. She wasn't going to entertain any arguments on this.
"We have to depart," she demanded, without further preface. "There is some trouble that can be repaired."
"Ah, Illyria," the Doctor turned to look up at her as though he hadn't been all but holding his breath for her to return so they could leave, "Nice to see you're walking on two legs again. Find anything interesting out there with your kittenish nose?"
He shot her a lopsided grin even though he figured she would neither appreciate it, nor find the humor in his words.
"Saturday. July twenty-ninth of this year, only a few weeks ago."
She wasn't listening to him. The matter of the kitten was not going to be addressed, now or later. It was trivial, inconsequential. The matter of him disturbing Wesley might be brought up at some point, but then again, perhaps not, as he would likely pry for details she did not wish to offer.
"A woman was killed in an automobile accident. Cordelia Chase. She was a friend of Wesley's."
"She was?" the Doctor looked a bit surprised, and he leaned against the console to look at Illyria, "Just a simple automobile accident? Why should you want to?"
It was a reasonable question, in the Doctor's mind. When Illyria wanted something, it usually involved something more than a simple drunk driver, or a killed celebrity.
It was great. Though I always have to be careful when I read your Doctor, since they haven't aired that season here yet. It's hard to be spoiler-free sometimes! But yeah, I loved the thread. *g*
