It's always struck me as being very hard for her when he regenerates, because she both grieves and welcomes him and this is such a great piece at capturing how she knows what's going to happen, even if she doesn't want it to.

I think with Ten it was probably especially hard, because he was never very good at just letting things go. He clinged to his form like Linus clings to his blanket. The TARDIS could only support, even though it was no doubt really, really hard for her.

Though it's actually sort of poetic. He didn't want to leave, so he took her -- or at least, his version of her -- with him. So they'll always be together somewhere inside his head now.
