I've heard of great rabbiam saying shehakol before nursing as early as nine months. Children speak at different ages anywhere from nine month until three. Speaking and making brachas has nothing to do with one's need to nurse or not.
Some people write G-d with the o because they believe the written word is only sacred in loshen hakodesh. It is the same way some people will say OMG or similar because they don't consider it using the name in vein if it is not in loshen hakodesh. I learned the commandment does apply to all languages so I don't do it.

The baby saying shehakol before nursing is way too much for me but the rest sound ok and in the realm of normal even if not my style :)

my baby has never had a bottle and that doesn't mean I can't leave him for a date with my husband (if he's already sleeping, it works for us) or the mikvah!
also about babies at simchot - yeah I'd probably leave my baby home if he wasn't nursing, but he is, so he comes with me.
I think this book sounds very natural parented minded and ahead of its time in that way.
