A home massage sounds like an amazing use of extra spending money, if I were a stressed out mommy! You can get an hour-long massage for $50 if you find a good deal, or someone who's still getting their massage license. A manicure/pedicure can cost almost as much, would you question that so harshly? So in the scheme of luxuries it's not much money, and as for why... you can't see the appeal? Is it... cultural? ;)

I would question a random person getting mani or pedi regularly, as I know kallos who didn't have a mani... but massage to me is a weird idea unless it's medical. I agree I don't see the appeal and I even wonder why I would want (if not needed) a stranger to do it to me. lol

cultural then-- getting a professional massage here for non-medical reasons is very normal. As for a stranger doing it, it's b/c they are a licensed massage therapist, so they have skills different from a backrub you might get from your husband or whatever.
