I begged my doc for a heter for Yom Kippur. lol. He said no way, unless you're 6 months pregnant, then you can do until chatzos if you feel good. Oh well. ;)
I was told to break if I felt contractions I guess. The only real risk was because I had EDS five weeks early. That tish b'av I was about 8 weeks from my due date so I was pretty scared. I made Reuben stay home from most of shul to look after EDS while I hid in my bedroom with the a/c.
I didn't even ask about Yom Kippur that year, because by then I was 40.5 weeks. Fasting did put me into labor so I drank and ate and had Shira.
BH I've been fasting much better since I started drinking electrolyte drinks before and after and taking yeast pills for nursing.
Have to drink water due to the medication I am on (kidney and liver function issues) - my Dr had coniptions when I mentioned YK. My Rabbi agreed (I am rare among British Reform for having consulted a Rabbi). Do fast though which is almost worse when you are drinking water IMHO.
