I got them when I was single. I used silk tips instead of acrylic and I did them short (in US certain people get claws) and had the woman do them very thin so they looked less fake. I LOVE how long polish stays on. I just hated that I had to get them filled often and as they get filled they end up looking thicker and thicker. They soak your fingers in acetone to remove them and it is such a LONG process I just rarely had the patience.
I think it would be too much of a pain with going to the mikvah regularly, but when I was pregnant I considered it. The thing is when I was pregnant my natural nails looked especially nice. I just hated how dark nail polish barely made it a week.
Before I got pregnant I always had my nails done, for years! I got white tips and always had them very short and very thin to look less fake. I love the way they look (my nails break so easily so it was my only way to have nice looking nails hehe).
