Irony is going out shopping to buy mouse traps for the pantry to kill mice and stopping by the pet store to pick up frozen mice to feed your snake in the same trip.

On the other hand it does sound a little like a 'Jack Handy' line from old Saturday Night Live.

Yeah... definitely like some classic Jack Handey.... and DO notice that I used the word like, and added a smiley. :) Certainly a strange coincidence, but I doubt it meets the criteria of the definition of Ironic.... just like most of the lyrics of the Alanis Morrisette tune, aren't actually ironic.
