More Nature Post! I love mushrooms!

Jul 11, 2017 20:03

This will be probably the last nature post I do from Photobucket. Since I already have a paid account there, it will not wreck all my links (supposedly) until January 2018, so people will have plenty of time to look at this one before it disappears, and before then I'll have found a new solution for image hosting ( Read more... )

Black bears almost never attack humans, but it's not a good idea to encourage them. When they live close to humans they can get a bit TOO used to them ( ... )

We've had an unusual amount of rain over the last few weeks, and it is waking up all the mushrooms!

Russula seems to be generally edible, but the slugs and insects seem to get to them very quickly and they're full of holes! And the one in the link... we have something very similar if not the same and it is considered very good, but only when it's very fresh.

I was shocked at how good the sulfur shelf was... SO much more flavor than a plain old store-bought mushroom! So delicious, and I can't wait to get some more!

Gorgeous, especially the coral.

And your "cross-eyed princess" is beautiful!

Have you chosen a photobucket alternative?

Our little cross-eyed girl has balance problems from neurological damage... she had a very bad infection when we found her. So now she mostly looks adorable and runs up vet bills.

I have not found a good alternative for photos yet. It's frustrating!
