Nature Post!

There has been so little time to get out and spend time at my lake... Brat has things scheduled EVERY DAY after school lately, with the end of the school year approaching, and it's starting to wear me out, since I have to do most of the driving. But today was an amazingly perfect sunny bright wonderful day, so I went out to the lake ( Read more... )

THANK you darling Elf for your spring walkies and the lake and the air and the breathing and.... the PEACE and LIVING bit... I am getting to the point now I KNOW your seasons better than my own, as I watch out for trilliums and Joe Pye and the greeeeeen!!! My world for the last year or so has been SO restricted and tied in, and I've really not been able to even walk round a garden, which I try to do at Andrews. But to go stomping down a forest track and see wagons, and grazing horses, and curly ferns - oh they are SOOOO delightful and mathematical and FIT into themselves so wonderfully.

The squirrel sounds marvellous! I bet thqt's where you learnt to cuss properly - and make me laugh my head off!

Oh LAKE, and ospreys and waiting for the rest of the green and summer, and funghi and .... insects and... oh THANK YOU Elfin one!

Love the pic! teehee, yer a pretty lass you really ARE!

I always imagine you're with me when I'm out walking... my friends, strolling along beside me!

A splendid walk as usual! Your lake and your ospreys welcomed you - and us!!

Those little white four petalled flowers look a bit like some we get in Portugal that are a wild member of the cabbage family.

Squirrels of any and every shade tend to scream when thwarted. I have had the same treatment from our native reds and from our imported greys. When we threw some greys out of our roof space (there was a missing tile after a storm and they moved in sharply) they sat on the windowsill outside my kitchen and yelled at me all day.

Our gray squirrels will chatter a bit but they are not nearly as vocal as their littler cousins.

There is nothing like those spring greens - because it is just not one green colour.
Ah, you and the lake, you belong together, that is for sure!
All the plants and trees - gorgeous! And yout red squirrel would eat our red squirrel as snack. However also our little ones are very energetic and protective of their territory and noisy too.
I would very much like to see ospreys. Only thanks to you I know they exist - and they are magnificent!
And I am very pleased because the blue fat cat is perfectly at home in your new house!:-)

Every shade of green you could imagine...

The blue fat cat is very happy there and gets to enjoy whatever wax scents we are melting!
