[Action 01] Need the Stars to Guide Me

Jan 08, 2012 13:25

(going where the app started off...)Well, ending up in the town he had spotted from the train really didn't help the situation as much as he hoped. Why a train would be stopping at some dead zone like this, he had no idea, but no one was around. Just a train station in need of repair, no other passengers leaving the train, and the very weird ( Read more... )

[Action] Oh God these two. fakereputations January 8 2012, 18:47:30 UTC
[Flynn comes to the train station every week at the same time. He always acts casual, as if he's on a walk. But really, he's taken to stopping by to see if a certain young lady has arrived or not. If she were to arrive...he wanted to be the first person she saw.

Instead, today, he spots a guy ambling about instead, and his shoulders slump. But hey, he's stuck here like he was, so no need to be rude]

Hey there pal! Did you just get off that train thing? [He still was not one hundred percent on that bit of technology]

[Action] Should be EPIC. Sultry glances everywhere. Which I wrote as 'slutty' first. kirktastic January 8 2012, 18:53:40 UTC
[Kirk glanced up, and as if on cue, it seems his instincts are right. He found someone, dressed in an old style of clothing and leather. Interesting.] Sure did. [Easy smile, the 'let's be friends' smile.]

[He glances around once, but sees no one else with this guy. However, admitting he has no idea how he got here seems like a pretty bad idea, in case this was one of his kidnappers. Otherwise, how could he be off the Enterprise and down on some planet?] Not sure where here is, though. [Willing to admit that much, an expected question.]

[Action] Oh ho ho. Should be amazing indeed. fakereputations January 8 2012, 19:10:03 UTC
[Flynn strides up to him easily, his stance open and friendly. He's not armed today, but he does have that satchel slung over one shoulder. The doc would thank him later for keeping med supplies on him, he was sure. Anyway, this fellow seems pleasant enough, but a smile was never a strong indicator; he should know. Still, he extends a hand]

Can't say it's much of a welcome, but welcome to Ruby City, buddy. Name's Flynn Rider, and you're going to be stuck here for some time. There's a lot of us here, and no one really knows how we got here. [He regards the man for a moment, thoughtful. That uniform...]

Say, uh. Where exactly are you from?

[Action] Rumor is if they turn their best smiles on a woman at the same time, she explodes. kirktastic January 8 2012, 19:17:01 UTC
[Ruby City? Nothing triggers in his mind, but with countless planets in the universe, it doesn't take him by surprise. However, Flynn's latter comments do.] No one knows how they got here? [Well, hell. That doesn't bode well at all. Texts scroll in his mind about people who survived being hoarded by aliens, experiments, mind control, and not one of them gives him any comfort.]

[Well, for now... this guy doesn't recognize the Star Fleet uniform, so he feels comfortable in giving his title.] Captain James T. Kirk. [He gives a firm hand shake.] Exactly what do you mean, stuck here... why?

[The sound of the train passing through the city, drew Aqua to the station. Was Ven back? Could the Master be here? Unfortunately, no such luck for Aqua. But she does recognize the uniform. Especially since she helps Bones out in the clinic.]

Hi, welcome to Ruby City. Do you know... Dr. McCoy by chance? He has a uniform like that, a blue one.

[He starts off in that infamous Kirk smile, but as soon as she means Bones, his eyes go wide.] Ah, yes, I do. [A moment of being surprised that someone would know Bones all the way out here, specially considering the man's severe lack of desire in space travel.] I'm guessing you know him though. How?

[That smile kind of reminds her of Francis..]

He runs the clinic now, since he arrived. Christine and Janice started it before I got here. And I've offered to help him out whenever he needs me.

[She gets to see one of those rare moments in which Kirk is absolutely speechless. Pretty much all but one thing that she just said made any sense at all, and the only one is 'clinic' because Bones would do nothing else. Wait... Christine? Wasn't one of Bones' nurses called Christine?] Wait, wait. [He holds up his hands.] What do you mean, since he arrived? Bones is back on ship. [Pause, thought.] And he didn't get off the train with me.

[Well, here's a sight for you. There's a six and a half feet tall man with a horn, a tail, peachy skin and a hole in his face. He's carrying a large box and it merrily humming to himself.

He approaches the train station, not seeing Kirk. But it's obvious he's trying to make sure people aren't watching. Being Lukas, this is all done in an over-dramatic, cartoonish sort of way. Ruby City doesn't have much in the way of trash removal services, so he's trying to get rid of some junk. He pops the box on the train station platform, and pulls out a marker, writing "FREE STUFF FOR NEWBIES!!" on it. He looks quite satisfied with himself!

Of course, when he turns around to leave, her sees Kirk standing there now. Oops.]

Oh! Uh... You saw nothing~!

[Hey, this is Kirk. He's seen aliens that look a damn slight weirder than Lukas. In fact, he could point out a box or two on his bingo card filled by them...]

[But watching this guy left Kirk with a half-smirk on his face - partly out of amusement, partly out of wondering what kind of loony place he's ended up in.] Sure I didn't. Not seeing anything right now. [Because well, why not?]

Excellent! Because it's not my fault this place doesn't have much in the way of trash removal services.

[He looks Kirk up and down a moment, thoughtful.] Though I don't think you'd be interested in anything in that box. Say, where have I seen that shirt before? Where'd you get it?

[This place looks like a dump anyway...] It's a Starfleet uniform. [Well, if the uniform looks familiar, there's two options in Kirk's brain. Either this.. okay, he looks like one of those cartoon devils except a lot more real, devil guy had good interaction with someone from Starfleet in the past, or bad.]

Action forever because it's Kirk and Spock - there's always action. XD vulcancommander January 9 2012, 03:01:23 UTC
[Spock has already settled fairly well into the city, which now included a sort of stroll as part of a daily exercise routine he had started up. he usually added the train station on the route he took when he wanted out of the library just a little longer than usual. Usually he ended up going by the station on a day that didn't have new arrivals, but today...today was different.

He turned the corner that put the station in view, the same street that he had meet Theta on, and that also put someone he knew in view. That was odd, since he didn't usually recognize people that arrived - or were already living here in the city.]

Captain? [His voice echoed a little in the twilight-lit area as he walked over. Spock, for a bit of a change, looked a little surprised, just like he did the day McCoy arrived.]

Damn right there's always action. Kirk just hopes it doesn't involve Spock's fist. kirktastic January 9 2012, 03:08:01 UTC
[The voice, that all too familiar voice, pul;s Kirk's gaze down from the stars and peering into the shadows of the train station. It takes only a second to find it, and a sense of pure, hot relief runs through Kirk at the familiar face to add to the voice.]

Spock! Glad I'm not the only one here. Wherever here is. What the hell is going on? How'd we get off the ship? [Because well, Spock usually is the first to catch onto this sort of thing. He knows he didn't see Spock get off the train; had he missed Spock, somehow?]

And I just realized that Spock has never introduced another person to the city. This might be fun XD vulcancommander January 9 2012, 03:16:12 UTC
[This would be interesting to explain. Spock hadn't had the...pleasure of introducing someone that was new to the city, which Kirk seemed to be. He recalled when Kirk had once been there, exploring the Jurassic Era of the park with him, but he had vanished soon after that. Apparently his captain didn't recall that, but that was okay with Spock. Approaching the captain, he nodded in a greeting, to his superior officer.]

Yes, you are not the only one here. Janice Rand is here, along with Doctor McCoy. [He almost sounded miffed at that. The Vulcan had no aversions to having the good doctor around though.] You have been transported to a seemingly alternate dimension called 'Ruby City'. I have not drawn any logical conclusions as to how we were transported away from the Enterprise, but the residents of this city - whom have also been taken from their own worlds - have informed me that the 'captors' in charge of this realm have a hand in it. Unless they decree it so, we are permanently stationed here, Captain.

It's always fun with Kirk. Dangerous fun. kirktastic January 9 2012, 03:19:36 UTC
[Kirk listens to it all, then gets that look on his face. That semi-dangerous one that usually ends in disaster or saving the day.] Like hell someone'll keep us here, away from the Enterprise.

[Though the concept of an alternate dimension could set those plans completely awry. Wait. Wait.] How... [He gives Spock another look, questioning this time.] How do you know all this stuff already? Did you meet someone before finding me?

[Janice usually tried to be around the train station when the new arrivals usually came in but this time she's running a little late, jogging through the streets in a strange collection of gear that was part Starfleet, part something that would look more like the costume from an old western holo.

Her long coat flapping behind her, she checks the heavy pistol at her hip, skidding around a corner and stopping when she catches sight of someone who looked incredibly familiar.

The City has to be playing another joke on her. She stares a few moments before finally blurting out.] You can't be him.

Yes, it's me...Sir. [It takes her a moment to add what had been her customary 'sir.' Her eyes narrow slightly as she tries to pick up any detail that might prove that he's not Jim. It wouldn't surprise her if it's a trick, though having him show up again would be another cruel twist on what's happened to her before.

She shakes off her thoughts, standing straighter, looking properly Starfleet if the additions to her uniform are ignored.]

I'm sorry. I didn't expect to see you here. [Again.] Welcome to Ruby City.
