[What an utterly wretched week it had been for Feliciano. He had waited and waited for Lovino to come home, had worried and fretted and wallowed in guilt, but none of it had brought his brother home. He had even made some half-hearted efforts to search the city for him, yet he had been far too scared of actually finding him to go anywhere near the train station, let alone call him. He was afraid he wouldn't have known what to say and them being silent like strangers, that would have been worse than the uncertainty.

He had never claimed to be anything but a coward.

The message comes out of the blue while he is taking Lupo for a walk, as he is, in fact, waiting for the puppy to be done sniffing at a tree. For a while, Feli is inclined to ignore it, first dismissing it as wishful thinking, then too scared to reply, for he has waited so long already, Lovino will be mad, won't he? Yet almost without his agreement, his hand finds the watch and he clicks the button. He looks worn, but the black eye has faded and now he simply looks sad.]

[Oh, he doesn't care. He didn't expect a response anyway. Chances are Feli was going to run away from it and avoid him and act like he wasn't stuck in the city just like everyone else. It's a pleasant surprise when he gets a response.

And he stays on the audio side, mostly so Feli won't see things like the scratch on his forehead that he earned from discovering it is infact possible to cut your skin open if you bash your face into a wall enough times. And also so he doesn't have to look at his own screen. He wants to see Feli, not a video of Feli.]
