[Alice is awake, seated on the edge of her bed, legs swinging thoughtfully.] I wonder.. If one really did know one thousand and one stories, how would they keep track? I should think it very difficult, as what if you forgot someone's name or what was to happen next? Then the story would be stuck, wouldn't it?

You make an interesting note, my dear. Perhaps it was due to Scheherazade's desire to keep herself alive that she kept track of the one thousand and one nights so very well.

Yes, that's a very good point.. If I were in that situation, I would try to keep track of things as well. [A pause] It's a very scary story, actually.

Ah, but it has quite the happy ending. Scheherazade ends up wooing the sultan and becoming his beloved queen, thus ending the killing of innocent women at his hand.

Only a few that I've been made to read for lessons- but they're more poems than stories. There was another one, but I'm afraid I don't remember any of it.
