3rd Sermon [Video]

[The feed switches on with a loud crash, from it's advantage in the debris of what was once a table it films the dark room, and even darker figure. The only light there is happens to be what is filtering though the curtains, and the livid red glint of the figure's eyes. They burn with anger, and pain.

[Though his rage he hears a voice from that damned device that had provided no answers before when he tried to contact those he loves. Leaving it be seems like a valid option but in the end he picks it up and snarls at the screen, showing off a row of sharp teeth]

Of course I'm not fucking all right.

[Abel had seen this kind of behavior before - hell, he'd acted it before. He didn't know what happened, and he was fairly certain he was unaware of this man's existence before this, but his feet were moving before his brain could talk himself out of it, and he practically flies to where he can still hear the man's agonized wails. He runs as quickly as he can up to the apartment, not bothering to knock, and flings the door wide open.]

[Signless is in the middle of destroying the soft sleeping platform he had shared with his mate when he hears the door slam open. He's in far too much pain to find a singular fuck to give Abel. Putting his foot though the surface that still smells so strongly of his lover takes precedence.]

[Those injuries are only getting worse, and that's what Abel is worried about. He strides into the room, trying to get closer to him without getting hit.]

Please, stop, you're hurting yourself...

Wouldn't be the first time.

[He still had the scars, large painful swaths of flesh over his body, a clear reminder that the pain he endured was not simply some sick twisted dream. Painful reminders of the lives that his lusus and mate had been sent back to.]

[Karkat watches, silently. All the rage that came from his ancestor...he didn't know how to interpret it. Sure he had rage, he was a crabby nubbed troll who got the monthly aware for crabbiest nook in all of the City, but this. Bot to mention he hadn't seen the troll in...months? He figured it was that long, time seemed to move at a increasing rate in this city.

Not even he could come up with an excuse to be mean back. How could he after he sees this display!? He taps a claw on the screen of the communicator as he tries to think of some response that won't upset the adult more.]Yeah this city seems to have a habit of sucking those it spit out, back up into a void. It is stupidly inconvenient ( ... )

[He knows that voice. He knows those words even more. He freezes, in the middle of decimating another window and breaths.

He walks.

Breaths.

Picks up the watch.

And looks at Karkat with eyes so pained one would think he had just lost everything that had ever made his life worth living.]

I'm not in the mood, wriggler.

[He snaps the watch shut.]

[What...what! No! You do not close the communicator on him, unless you are someone he doesn't care about. You, he doesn't. Well...he does. Fuck it's complicated. Just no! He will quickly redial up the his ancestor, now yelling over the communicator!]

Wriggler! I'm a fucking wriggler! Have you looked at the shine of blood on your hive walls, who is acting like a wiggling piece of young pie. You! Not me! I was giving you come leaderly advice you might of the courtesy of getting further angered by! Not the best move on my part, I will give you that, but fuck! So your matespirt left and your lusus, considering those are the people missing and you just now were brought to this common fact! My lusus is dead! I killed him. Move the fuck on grub! Just now in Karkat's life: my moirail and kismesis are gone. Do you see me depositing my blood into the miracles on the fucking walls! God wish Gamzee was here to see this glorious shit stain we could get on our creative side and paint masterpices all with this mutant swill.

[He takes a small ( ... )

[Terezi is speechless for a long while. She didn't have the pleasure before, but now, it's all too clear who's ancestor this is.] I do not think yelling is going to help.

[He's usually more collected, calmer, happier, but any man would lose it when their world is upended in such a devastating way.]

Sure as hell feels like it's working!

I feel better already! No wonder my descendant acts like a raging grubfucker, it makes the load of hoofbeast shit that has been cast onto my shoulders-set aflame, and had a few rabid squeekbeasts thrown on top for good measure-feel just a little bit better.

[That is not the answer she was looking for here.] It will not get you anywhere because it will not change anything! You are acting just like Karkat and it is kind of sad, considering you are a lot older then he is! I was hoping Karkat would stop being such a grub as he got older, but this is not very encouraging.

[... oh. This is... this isn't nice. And here John's thought his issues have been pretty bad...

... he had been vaguely wondering where this one had gone. Big Karkat Ancestor.]

... hey... are you going to be okay?

Oh yes, I'm just going to be fucking peachy!

[Signless shoves his fist though another wall, not even bothering to look at the watch as he answers. He's lost those precious to him-twice now-and the world remained no different without them. THINGS SHOULD CHANGE! Good people should not just disappear and life be no different for it!]

[John flinches vaguely, a little hesitant to answer again.]

What's wrong? Have you been in the catacombs? I've heard they're pretty nasty...

Reply

coolingshackles January 4 2012, 06:11:25 UTC
Oh my stay in the catacombs was downright pleasant. I was offered tea and fresh grubloaf for my troubles. I was offered a guest bedroom with only the finest of recuperacoons. My stay down in that putrid, stinking, filth-den was downright wonderful compared to what I returned to.
