[John himself has been pacing and hitting the streets, for his own personal purposes. Personal purposes that make it profitable for him to hunt out and brightly approach this stranger who seems to be looking around! Well that was easy!]
Oh! That's great! I've got just the idea, you should with me to Miss Buckley's shop, I bet you'll find something great there! We've got teapots, and little clockwork animals and watches and things! Come on!
[No preamble, just straight into the pitch, and he's already walking eagerly to lead the other.]
Where I'm from, we usually set up a small pine tree in the home and decorate it with various ornaments. On Christmas day, we exchange gifts. Specifically, though, the traditions vary by country and parish. I prefer to avoid the whole gift giving fiasco altogether.
[Oh? Consider him interested.] That sounds really nice, actually.
[Hm. Nod. Even though he doesn't understand the 'country or parish' part.] I see... that's kind of why I'm asking. Different places do different things.
Where I came from, the pines would bring good scents into the home, and we'd trade stories over a large dinner. Sometimes...the children would act them out. Someone always got drunk, though.
[It was a matter of taste. He didn't like the whole capitalist slant to Christmas.]
[Goro, arms weighed down by several bags, makes his way out of one of the shops. Blinking, he smiles and sets down some of the bags long enough to wave with a,] "Hello!"
[The 'celebrated with family and friends' part is what's familiar to him, though... christmas cake? he's also tilting his head a little, and looking thoughtful.] A romantic holiday... I guess I could see how it could be thought of that way, depending on the gifts you give people.

[Aqua didn't mean to spy on Terra. She'd been doing a bit of her own Christmas shopping so don't mind the leather bag hanging from her shoulder when you spot her.]

[And..]
It's also kind of used as a romantic holiday though. A time to go out with your loved one and exchange gifts and such.
