Where I'm from, we usually set up a small pine tree in the home and decorate it with various ornaments. On Christmas day, we exchange gifts. Specifically, though, the traditions vary by country and parish. I prefer to avoid the whole gift giving fiasco altogether.

Where I came from, the pines would bring good scents into the home, and we'd trade stories over a large dinner. Sometimes...the children would act them out. Someone always got drunk, though.

Christmas is celebrated with family and close friends where I'm from. Usually a gathering to eat Christmas cake...

[And..]

It's also kind of used as a romantic holiday though. A time to go out with your loved one and exchange gifts and such.
