[Temper appears on the video feed as he often does, expression relatively neutral, though this time instead of being just shy of pleasant, there's an underlying tenseness, hidden below the surface but almost visible in glimpses now and again. Almost. It seems that things in this city have gotten rather out of control rapidly. It's a bit ( Read more... )

Isn't it? [Morrigan's half distracted firing off energy blasts at the undead that keep spilling out. Her shots are smaller, but effective.]

What do you suggest, Temper? Besides pooling resources, is there a cure?

[Temper glances at her for a moment.]

There is. It's not in my possession, however, or I would not have my kin involved in this.

Mhm. Your apparent devotion to your kin is touching. What is- [More firing, Morrigan stopping for a second to give her arm time to relax.] What is the cure, if you don't mind sharing?

As with most things, it is something that must be obtained. A fusion of science and magic.

It will need to begin with blood.

You sound as if you are in charge here, based upon your tone.

Was this your doing?

[He's not judgmental, just curious.]

A fair enough assessment, I think. My kin and I look after this place.

[A faint shake of his head.] Mine specifically, no. Though perhaps I left the door open...

Regardless, I have a vested interest in seeing it wrapped up now.

A door? Can you be affected by the disease as well?

[Sebastian's not sure if he can be infected, but on the other hand, he's not exactly eager to get bitten to find out.]

It would see, unfortunately, that we can be, yes.

[Temper was not pleased to find this out at all.]

Fall out of control? Are you responsible for this?

tempervale_npc November 24 2011, 20:23:49 UTC
Me? No, not personally. Though I was aware of its happening.

You knew? Do you have a sixth sense? Have you an idea how to "correct" this?

Reply

tempervale_npc November 24 2011, 20:47:09 UTC
No, it's a much more mundane sort of knowing. It's the business of my kin.

Correct it? Yes. It's just a matter of finding a cure, of course. I'm aware of the general idea of it. I just hadn't expected needing to undo this all so soon.

[[It was a foolish thing to allow. The city is practically overrun, and what would you have done if everyone joined the ranks of undead?

So what do you propose?]]

[Temper nods.] Practically, yes. It's a rather messy sort of thing in general.

I propose finding the solution sooner rather than later.

[[I would have to agree with sooner over later as well. Have you any ideas? In movies there is always some sort of antivirus, but I wonder that we have the resources to do something like that.

These undead are unusual too. Why are they so fast? And it seems like they still have a capacity for strategy.]]

Not all that far off, Celty. We have more than the resources for this. But like many things this will need to be more than pure science.

[A nod.] They do. For now, at least. Cellular death will catch up with them eventually.

[Jan still has mixed reactions about Vale, but she keeps her expression polite.]

Help would be appreciated, Mr. Vale. Did you have something in particular in mind?

[Temper nods.]

I do. The remedy to this is a bit, involved. But the first step involved requires blood, from one who has become one of the creatures in the street -- blood from their former selves and their changed selves.

[Grabbing a nearby notebook, she begins transcribing what Vale had told her. She considers that first step for a moment, then nods absently. The clinic had a small supply of blood set aside, all carefully labeled so that the donor was known.]

We should be able to get both blood from someone, from both and after the change. What would we need to do with it once we had it?

Once you've obtained the blood, there is a talisman of sorts that will see about dispersing the finished cure. I will provide this to you. To put it simply, the talisman will be able to isolate the difference in the blood. Once it recognizes it, it will be able to destroy it.
