Scott Pilgrim Vs. The Undead

Nov 20, 2011 00:57

[It had been a fantasy, nay, a dream that he had sought after. Yes, literally sought after. Scott loved zombies. They were, in his mind, the ultimate monster. They lacked the humanistic draw of vampires, the turmoil that came with the Wolf-man. Zombies were not quite human, but still very much like him or any one else he knew. Any one could become ( Read more... )

[The feed is shaky, but it's to be expected.] Flying around. I'm not in the mood to waste energy portaling to and from places. Where are you, exactly?

[Scott's camera is a bit shaky as well. The sword in his other hands comes and goes from view, looking as it he were pumping his hands back and forth in a run. Panting, he responds back.]

"About to find you! If you can land on a building, do it! I'll be there in.. in.. less than a minute!"

[Gliding to a nearby building, she lands on the roof. Closing her communicator, Morrigan looks around, just in case anything decides to try coming up the building's side.]

[With in a few seconds of her landing, a door on the top of the building slams open to reveal Scott Pilgrim, man of action. Holding his sword tightly in one hand and a severed limb in the other, Scott is panting wildly as he meets Morrigan's eyes with a grin.]

"Am.. Am.. I late?"

[A frantic and disheveled Lukas answers.]

Scott! Scott, I barricaded the doors to the coffee shop, but there's a window, and I think they know I'm in here, and I don't know how to kill a zombie because I've never seen one before except in some movies and I'd really like if they just would go away and--

[Uh oh.]

"Lukas! You still there?! I'LL BE THERE IN A MINUTE! JUST HANG ON, OKAY?! WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T LET THEM NEAR YOU! HIT THEM IN THE HEAD WITH SOME THING BLUNT IF THEY GET TOO CLOSE, OKAY?!"

Hit them... O-Okay! I'll find something! There's none here yet but I saw some and they attacked me so I ran in here but they couldn't get in so they wandered off but now I'm afraid to go back outside and I don't know how I'm supposed to--

[.. Oh shit. He said the "A" word!

In the most collected voice he can muster, Scott presses on.]

"Lukas, buddy. Did.. Did they bite or scratch you? Did any of them get in contact with you? You gotta' be one-hundred percent honest with me, okay?!"

[02's answering video clicks on to reveal her sitting and reading, the very picture of bemused calm.]

Zombies, indeed? My, my... And you're something of a professional, then, are you? Maybe you can clarify just why it is, then, that we shouldn't-- [She pauses as something off-camera catches her eye, still looking entirely calm... As she raises one arm, takes aim, and very calmly fires off two quick successive shots before returning her gaze to her watch.] --bother with firearms?

"Bullets are loud, they'll be drawn to you quickly that way. You also don't have to rely on swords for ammunition. Once you're out of bullets, that's it.

Unless of course you've got a munitions building under lock and key and are willing to share, of course."

[She frowns thoughtfully at his response, clearly giving it some legitimate thought.]

I suppose that's a valid point... Even my sidearm's report is considerable. Blades it shall be, then. Although... Drawing them in doesn't sound like too bad a plan, to be frank. It would make it easier to take them out en masse, wouldn't it?

"You'd think that. It's like trying to bring in a swarm of wasps or locusts. It might seem like a good idea, but it's the worst. You can only take so many at a time before they over take you.

Where are you right now? I can't have my best friend's girl in trouble."

You know how to handle them?

"Yes, I do. You got any bladed weapons or heavy blunt objects, stock enough with you in case they get caught in one of them.

You want to rally and survive this, meet me in a half-hour at the Cathedral. It's the most common place that people know about and there are enough roads to it we should have an easy way in and an easy way back out to hide."

A sword works better on them than a rifle?

I shall meet you there then.

[Congratulations, Scott, you have literally shocked Gil into silence!]

[The young and intrepid reasonably aged and perpetually snarky trap merely stares into the watch for a few long seconds, one and only one thought running through his mind over and over again.]

[And, of course, that thought can be nothing but...]

Are you fucking kidding me?

"No.. No I'm NOT fucking kidding you. This ain't a joke, as much as I love the thrill and possibility of killing undead hordes.

You wanna' live? Meet me unscathed at the Cathedral and we'll roll from there!"

Dude, that's kind of messed up...

I think I'll pass, though. I've got a third story apartment, so I think I'll just slide my dresser in front of the door and wait it out while you hero types take care of the problem. [No reason to risk his own neck when other people are willing to do it for him, right?]
