Seventh Weave [Video/Action]

[His eyes remain closed for so long that one might think the watch has caught him asleep. This proves to not be the case as he begins to sing out several sustained notes- Mi - Do - Mi - Re. They sound clearly in the emptiness of the building, driving out the stillness for a few moments ( Read more... )

One moment then.

[He pats a hand over his backpack before setting the watch down on it. Then he gets to his feet, stepping off to the side for a moment to pick up something before he comes back into view, carrying his guitar with him.

He shuffles his feet on the ground a moment before sinking down to sit. His head turns back towards the watch although his eyes aren't quite focused on it.]

Can you see it?

Yes, I can. It looks a bit like a shamisen, doesn't it?

[The boy nods, his unseeing eyes shifting more in the direction of the watch once Kanetsugu speaks up again.]

Yes, that's right. But it has more strings, and you don't need a plectrum to play it.

[But that comparison alone is enough to confirm something he'd been hesitant to ask.]

...are you from Japan?

I see. Does that make it more difficult to play it?

[Kanetsugu nods once again.]

Yes, that's right. I'm from Japan. Where are you from?

Not at all. [He sets his fingers, positioning his right hand over the lower half of them before strumming a few chords.]

It takes practice though, of course. But it's much simpler than a koto.

[Kanon smiles faintly.] Osaka.

Yes, of course. If you don't mind I would love to hear you play it.

Osaka?

[His voice shakes a bit suddenly. The irony to meet someone from that fated place.]

I'm from Echigo... but the last place I was at was Osaka.

Sure. I wouldn't mind playing something.

[He repositions his left hand, right hand pausing long enough that he catches that slight change in tone. The boy arches a brow as he lifts his head towards the watch again.]

Echigo..? [A slight frown touches his face. Where has he heard that name...? He blinks.]

...Whoa. You must be from a lo~ng while back, then.

Thank you very much.

[Kanetsugu nods once again.]

That is correct. It might be from where you come from. If you are living in Osaka... is a man called Yukimura Sanada venerated there?

Somewhat. A lot of time has passed since the Sengoku era, and with it, a lot of things. It's got to be at least several centuries between you and me, if I'm remembering my history lessons right.

So who are you?

If he is kept in the minds of the people then I'm content. [At least somewhat.]
That could be, I wouldn't be surprised.

[There's a small hesitation.]
My name is Kanetsugu Naoe. May I ask for your name as well?

Oh, don't worry. They still teach about it in school. And then you might be surprised how much ancient history influences things. [Although probably not in the way Kanetsugu would ever think.]

[He taps a finger against his chin.]

Sounds familiar. ...under Uesugi Kenshin, right? Wow, this is kind of weird- probably for you too, huh.

Oh, my name. Shizeno, Kanon. Hajimemashite, Naoe-san.

[He bows his head.]

In school? I hope you are learning that he was a brave, honorable and true warrior until the bitter end. [Because that's the only hope in his life left.]
How does it influence your time?

That is correct. [His expression brightens and have a more enthusiastic tone here.] My lord was the God of War. I believe it is, considering I am dead in your world for already a very long time.

It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Kanon.
[Also he is impressed by his good manners. He didn't run into that much here yet. So he bows as well.]

[Kanon smiles, nodding at that.] Yes; you have nothing to worry about there. -ah, well, popular culture, for one. The warriors of the Sengoku era have become renowned icons and inspire stories roughly based off of their accomplishments.

It is an honor to meet someone who played a part in such a pivotal time of our country's history. I wonder what reasons there would be for bringing people from the general same world, but different periods of time, though...

[Kanon would have felt strange not to be polite to Naoe otherwise. He set his hands again on his guitar, picking out a few chords before working his way into a song.]

[Kanetsugu smiles as well. So Masamune was really right.]
So we became work of popular culture? That is interesting, I wonder what they are writing about us...

I didn't do all that much, but... thank you. I have no idea, but this whole place is out of reason, really.

[Kanetsugu listens silently until the end of the song. After a few moments, he speaks up again.]

That was foreign, but did sound nice nonetheless.
