She rubs lightly at her face and gives a little sniffle (it doesn't help much, but she'd like to think it did) and looks to him]
Kenshin, I... [She glances towards the house and shivers, looking back.] I-I'm sorry, what a dreadful state I must be in!
[She attempts a laugh and it comes out a sob, making Winnie close her eyes and clasp her hand at her throat in an effort to control herself. Agnes had always been better at that, far better then Winnie, who wore her heart on her sleeve and had always been an open book.
She turns away again, wiping at her eyes] I-I'm sorry...

Don't apologize to this one. It is alright. [His brows knit slightly, the corners of his lips turned into a frown.] What happened, Winnie-dono?

...I heard something calling me, form the mansion... When I went, there were ghosts, of my friends Agnes and Mortimer. [She smiles though] I knew it was fake, of course. Seeing ghosts are quite common in my world, and I know for a fact that Agnes will not become a ghost when she dies.
I'm not an expert on ghosts, but I do know there are certain factors one needs to become one, that Agnes simply doesn't have. [A pause. She wants to add 'that I don't have either' but it's not relevant ]
And Mortimer is a ghost, in my world, so of course I could see through that right away. It was really quite entertaining, they were trying so hard poor things, but I told them to stop being so silly and join me for tea.
I do keep forgetting ghosts can't drink and eat, or anything, Mortimer used to get so angry with me-- [Winnie stops, realizing ( ... )
