[There's no quips, no insults, no airy, condescending lead up. The second the video turns on, GLaDOS is practically in the camera's face, and sounding panicked.]
[She's close to saying nothing, quiet, panicked. But it start again. And this time, it seems to echo audibly down the stairs; a trembling voice, sobbing. GLaDOS' attention is caught sharply.]
... [Does she even have to say anything? She doesn't want to speak, out of fear she IS imagining this, or if not, that she'll chase it away...]
[She better say something quick, because Equius doesn't hear anything and is starting to wander in the opposite direction, his attention snared by some impressively carved crown moulding.]
Hnnnngh I feel so bad I hope you're not bored of being dragged on GLaDOS' trip ;-;'potatolamentOctober 19 2011, 04:27:57 UTC
You're going the right way at least! [The sounds do seem to be getting louder, she thinks...
... as they rightfully do. Coming further into the house seems to satisfy something of it's needs. Audible to Equius as well, the woman - finally speaking between each terrified sob.]
I didn't want to...! I didn't want to, they made me...!
[It wafts down the hall, tempting the pair further into the house, in one of the other rooms.]
totally bonding, yesb100globesOctober 19 2011, 11:35:33 UTC
You did something to her!
[There isn't much physical that scares Equius; he's STRONG enough to bash his way through most conflicts. But this is something supernatural, and he doesn't like it. His steps are slower now, more hesitant.]
Do you want me to take you out of my sylladex? Maybe you'll see something that reminds you?
[ooc: I'm not at all familiar with GLaDOS' canon... is it her soul or something they're hearing?]
Re: totally bonding, yespotatolamentOctober 19 2011, 18:50:40 UTC
Yes, take me out! Just... hold on to me, please.
[The woman's voice lowers, but does not soften - only seeming to give in more to her grief.]
You want to see me now... locked away in here... after everything you made us do!
WILL YOU BE QUIET! Take me out NOW!
[ooc: well, it's a bit spoilery if you're playing Portal 2...
what they're hearing is a tiny part of GLaDOS 'original programming' - Caroline. She was a woman working at the labs who was forced to put her consciousness into a computer - then becoming GLaDOS. It's a part of her that she's tucked away and forgotten with all the other personality cores they put in to control her.]
[Her crane of a neck moves around wildly to look.]... where are you?
[The woman hitches a sob.] Why are you looking for me? Why won't you leave me alone?! Why do you only want to see me now?! You don't even remember me...!
I will if I can see you! I will if you tell me your name!
[The rattling is becoming more violent - one of the drawers from behind them launches, smashing into the opposite wall. GLaDOS jerks to face that way, startled... but continues to stare.]
Gaaaaaaaah, late! Have a hysterical GLaDOS!potatolamentOctober 26 2011, 19:19:48 UTC
She is not my friend! I don't even know who she is!!! And she's not telling me, and I don't. Enjoy. Not knowing things, especially when it's about myself, because it most certainly is! And I don't even know here name, I don't -- !
[But when she faces back forward, it comes as if on a breeze, quieting her. The woman, before them, pretty, just barely aged, elegant, yet broken over by her sobs, shaking. GLaDOS hesitate, putting forward the words lingering there.]
... Caroline...
[More things are thrown about, nearly hitting Equius and GLaDOS, though at the moment GLaDOS seems to preoccupied to notice.]
geeesh, GLaDOS, calm your titsb100globesOctober 27 2011, 03:01:01 UTC
[As things fly through the air, Equius casually punches them aside when they zoom towards his head. He hears GLaDOS talking to the specter, but for once keeps his opinions to himself and just lets her sort this out on her own.]
Make up your mind, you infernal machine.

What did you do to her, GLaDOS?

[The woman gives a hysterical noise, distressed.]
How would you! You've shoved me away in here! They said I would live... this isn't living! I didn't want this!
[It's still only her voice, but the furniture in passing rattles in the hall, that behind them more violently, almost a spur forward.]

[Regardless, Equius pulls her out of the sylladex. She's big enough that he finds the easiest way to carry her is on his back.]
