It has. Can't believe this time last year I--well.

[He was kind of unconscious.] I think this autumn is starting off much better.

[He remembered his first experiences with the Terminals, and their appearance hadn't been all that long after his own arrival.]

[He considers.] A lot of people have came and gone.

[Gilbert is already peeking out the window at Naoki when the feed comes on. So he ducks back a bit and listens, smiling. And then he finds his own communicator.] There is something nice about cold fall nights though. Though, what's nabe?

[A pause and Gilbert's features darken a little at the mention of the Terminals and last October.] ...last October ended much better than it began. [Terminals, Gilbert hates you things.]

[Naoki smooths a palm over one of the sapling's trunks, glances to the window. Hm. He saw you there, Gilbert. You should come out to talk to him. A small laugh to himself before he answers,] Very nice. Walks during them especially.

[He grins at him.] This year I'll make it for us! It's kind of like stew, save you choose and cook your ingredients yourself. Nothing like it on a chilly night, let me tell you.

Hmm. [Naoki hums his agreement. He notes the way Gilbert's expression shifts like that.] It did, didn't it? I seem to recall it being very nice. [Yay birthday celebrations with Gilbert.]

[Oh Gilbert is aware that Naoki undoubtedly knows he's there. But sometimes he can't help it. He likes watching Naoki just being himself.] And watching the stars. The sky always seems clearer this time of year.

[But oh he's interested in that. It sounds kind of fun actually. And tasty.] I'll look forward to it.

[And it's about now that he decides to head outside. He wanders over to Naoki and the trees.] I remember it pretty fondly too.

The stars are going to be pretty beautiful. Shall we go star-gazing? [Soft and teasing, but he means it. Naoki's a romantic at heart.

He closes his communicator, though, as soon as he sees Gilbert emerge outside, pocketing it and smiling up at him.] Best birthday I ever had, I believe.
