1st Bloom [video]

[There is audio interference at first, and darkness, as if someone has their fingers over the ports of the communicator. The camera is whipped around quickly, creating an almost blinding flash with the contrast. The camera pans slowly, as if the person holding the device is studying it, not aware that he's turned it on yet. Marluxia finally ( Read more... )

No, but it is useful to contact other people in the city. And the Watcher and the Interloper- as well as their guests, may use it to watch you.

[Eyin' that cloak of yours.]

Do you know Vexen or Roxas? They wear that same jacket.

[He starts to respond to what Aqua said about the Watcher and Interloper before he's distracted by her question.]
Yes, I know them. Are they near?

It's been a little while since I've seen Roxas but I can sense that he's still in the city. And Vexen arrived a couple weeks ago.

I see...
[He looks contemplative for a moment.]
And who might you be?

Yes. Our captors. However, you can communicate with others here as well.

...

I wouldn't go into the woods if I were you. There's very dangerous monsters back there.

Can you describe the monsters? I am not unfamiliar to danger.

Large and dangerous. Much past that and it varies. If you fancy yourself a fighter, then by all means, but the forest only loops around to the train tracks.

Trapped on our own little planet, are we? I think I may still try all the same.

I'm sure you've heard by now, but you ought to be careful of the woods. [He grins good naturedly at the communicator.] And you can bet there's someone watching. They tend to be, so it's easier to just assume that they are, especially where these communicators are involved.

And if I were to discard this device deep within the woods?

You'd find it in your possession again shortly thereafter. [A shrug.] No getting rid of 'em for too long.

I see. So our captors wish us to communicate with one another over a massive network? Seems rather odd, but I suppose it is not as if one can openly plot rebellion on the network...

[ There's a voice coming from his communicator when it turns on. It's like this place knew. ]

No.. [ With a sneer and a growl under his breath, he watched the feed. There would be no response from Vexen yet. A brief flicker of horror turned quickly into faux rage, frustration, and anxiety. Anxiety was masterfully hidden as he finally appeared on screen and responded..he had heard the conversation between Aqua and Marluxia, so. Well. Avoidance was impossible now. ]

There is no escape. This world is inter-dimensional, trans-temporal, and the creators are not only present, but uphold a unique set of laws even Nobodies are incapable of breaking. [ Clearly he knows something important, and he's not telling as a form of passive-aggression. Or he's bluffing, but given Vexen's status as a scientist, it's likely the truth. ]

[Marluxia is not exactly thrilled to see you either, Vexen. He stops in his tracks, the mist swirling about his face.]

You truly are here, Vexen. And you are deigning to speak to me? This world is certainly full of surprises.

[He starts to turn back, snapping shut his communicator.]

I would say so. Failure to adjust properly proves dangerous.

[ Thrilled or not, the look on Marluxia's face was priceless, and drew a haughty smirk from the Scientist. With the feed cut, Vexen was sure to gather his resources. He hadn't the multitude of supplies from his laboratory yet, but he had enough to be of use to himself in just such a situation. ]

[Like Marluxia was going to let some anemic coward spew back-handed threats at him. He wasn't going to dignify Vexen with a response, even if it meant letting him have the last word. Following the tracks, he started walking back to the station. Likely, he wouldn't have even bothered to dignify Vexen with a moment of his consideration, but something about the Scientist's tone implied that he had certain assumptions about the power dynamics of their relationship that Marluxia was just going to have to wade in and quash.]
