[Of course it's obviously more than a couple of scrapes, but he doesn't want to scare her any more than she already is.]

in truth, most of the physical pain is gone. the scrapes that cover her body are minimal & harmless at most -- give her time to get some band-aids and she'll be fine (chise is fine!). ]

[ the back of her palms wipe at her eyes and cheeks frantically. to top it all off, it's hard to feel safe when feeling so vulnerable & collapsible. ]
