[The bookman has been keeping his mouth shut on the communicators lately. It's a strange trick for him, but he's had things on his mind. Which usually ends poorly for someone. But between trying to drum up something concrete for his slow-burning plan of mass revolt and then putting together the pieces of the future back home he's learned from Allen ( Read more... )

[It really isn't hard getting Allen to spend time with Lavi. He saw the video where Lavi had asked him for company and headed out, not even bothering to respond. He did tuck his watch into his pants pocket, however.

Once he arrives t the park, he stops near a tree and frowns as his eyes scan for the familiar figure of a loud obnoxious redhead swinging around a giant hammer.]

I thought he was in the park... It looks like I might have to contact him with the watch after all.

[Oh Lavi is in the park. But being who he is, he has a tendency not to be where expected.

He is, however, quite nearby. And all at once the redhead is popping out from behind a tree, just behind Allen, fairly soundlessly. He leans in close, to whisper, cheerfully to Allen's ear.] Looking for me?

[He bristles first, almost visibly as a strangled screech pushes past his vocal chords. The watch he'd been about to flip open drops to the ground as he whirls around to fit the redhead with an aggravated, but shocked none the less glare]

Lavi.

[Lavi blinks at that reaction, but he grins anyway.] Yup! Here I am. [He can't help but laugh a little.] Did I startle you? I wasn't sure if you'd show, since I didn't hear from you.

...Are you just really bored, or what?

Restless maybe. [He grins at that before peering closer at the communicator.]

That and curious about how far this place can reach into the past. ...if it is even the past here. For all we know, it could be so far in the future... [Well Lavi wonders if they can reach into the future at all, or only the times past from here. Maybe it's idle curiosity.]

...also a little bored. [Another grin.]

[Ed smirks slightly, an eyebrow quirking upward in amusement.]

So what happens if we find a winner? Do they get a prize, or are we all just gonna give them a hearty round of applause with a bunch of "ooh"s and "ahh"s on the side?

Well now that's a good question. Bragging rights, sure. But maybe I'll make 'em a blue ribbon. [This obviously amuses the bookman. So he grins.]

Heh. From most of the people that seem familiar with my name, it seems like we come from an older timeframe than some others.

Yeah, that's the peculiar thing too. Well known historical figures in some cases, well... then again, maybe it makes sense. They've always been interested in different sorts of people.

[A little grin here.] So... [Lavi will admit that Japanese history is not his strongest suit. He's read. A lot. And he remembers.] 16th to 17th century, isn't it?

Sounds about right. [He'd been trying to at least get a better idea of timelines, so he's figured that much out at least.]

Their interests go without saying- just look at all the people here. Gotta wonder if there's any actual connection though.

Oh yeah. Edogawa mentioned you. We should talk. Not over these though.

[Lavi nods at that.] Mm. I think Lenalee spoke about you a few times... [Usually in reference to bleeding. But that aside.]

Did he now? But hey. I agree. Face to face is better. [Lavi doesn't like being eavesdropped on at all.] My time is pretty flexible. I tend to be in the library when I'm not trying to keep my fighting skills from gathering too much rust and dust.

I'm from Earth, but I seem to be from an alternate Earth to the rest of you. And I hail from two thousand ten, wherever that is relative to everyone else.

Seems like most everyone is from an alternate in one way or another. [This is one of the more intimidating parts for Lavi. Even if they get out of the city, how do they find the way back to their respective worlds?]

Mine seems to be more 'alternate' than everyone else's. Not that I mind, though it's tiresome explaining the differences sometimes.

[Lavi blinks at that.] Guess I'm more interested in the similarities anyway.

Well, Lavi, despite the fact that I'm from a very recent time compared to some, my beginnings probably hail a lot earlier than most here. I don't think we should be counting us countries in this.

[Lavi laughs a little at that.] You do look remarkable for your age. Or any age for that matter. [This is one of those frequent moments he wishes he was capable of winking.] But thinking about it, you and the other countries might be able to help me out on this.

I wonder who is from the earliest point in time. And then, who is from the earliest point of time that most people have in common. Is there a place or places where these splits into other alternate worlds happen?

Heh. Sorry.

[She laughs softly, actually that's a nice compliment, considering the Asian nations do usually fear that they are getting too old.] Surely you jest.

Alright, let's see what I can do. Hmmm, you may have to give me a list of names first. There are some who may live during a certain era, but are not famous for it. But let's think, you are all from the 1800's no? I believe Sanada Yukimura, Tokugawa Ieyasu, Date Masamune, and Miyamoto Musashi are from late 16th century. Earliest out of the well knowns, so far. But there may be more.

Not at all. [He grins easily. Far be it from Lavi to pass up the opportunity to flirt with a pretty woman.]

Mm. They're the earliest that I can think of, off the top of my head. My and my friends from home are from a couple hundred years after that.

As for the other nations, even if many of you have been around for quite a while, are there any here who are from that early a period?
