Swimming in the sea's nice. Colder than a pool -- or at least, most of it is. The top 5 centimeters or so, when the sun reaches, that can get warm. It's a nice feeling, the contrast and then the sand under your toes.

And when you've had enough, you can go, sit on the beach in the sun and warm up.

A pool is an artificially created .... well, I guess it's like a small lake. In my world, they're often heated so that the water is a nice temperature, and chemicals are added to keep it sanitary.

The sand can be a pain, especially when it sticks to your skin when you're drying off after your swim. But you can play with it -- my classmates are really into sand castles.
