[Yes he was asking the obvious...he loved coffee at a unhealthy level.]

It's good, right? Of course!

Huh... so is there a reason for why some are male or female? Or is it some sort of personality thing...?

[He's still trying to wrap his head around this nation thing. Denmark hadn't exactly helped.]

[It occurs to him that that is a good question.]

I'm not sure what determines that. Hungary thought she was a man...for most of her life...I heard. I believe it is determined like anyone is born. It is random, 50/50.

Just another of life's mysteries~ So every country really has a, um, representation?

Yes.

[He takes another sip of his coffee before continuing.]

Personification is the word. We personify the nation itself, the people and the feelings they carry. We hold the burden of wars and can be hurt, psychically and emotionally by them.

Interesting~ So sort of like spirits, I guess. I never heard anything quite like it where I'm from. Ah, so how's the coffee? It's good? [Validation, he craves it.]

Not like spirits. We are a psychical form of a nation. In addition we have a tolerance that humans...and other beings do not. For example: we live longer and are not killed by that which would kill a human.

It is a good cup. You have a talent...[A compliment...something rare coming from him. Cherish it while you can.]

Yeah? So I guess you're as old as your nation then? I suppose you should look a lot older then~ [He smirks. Well, as best as Lukas can smirk, anyway.]

Aaah, thanks! I've had a lot of experience with it~

In a sense I am as old as my nation. Though my human age corresponds with how old I look. We nations...remain young unless something greatly ages our country. Like Rome...even though he is no longer around appears to be in his mid 30s or 40s.

It is a good skill to have.

Wow, so you guys live even longer than demons. And I guess when a new country is formed, a new person shows up~?

In a sense. If it is a new land mass. If it is a new nation, as such as an old nation given a new name or a new identity and it's people accept it as such. They have a new life and are reborn as such. But it doesn't necessarily mean they will be a child. It is complicated. Sometimes memories are erased of that past nation or they remain intact in the new nation.

Though, when a nation is born from a landmass we start off as children...babies if you will.

[Norway knows all.]
