[Simon had spent more than a few minutes staring at the text before responding]

This is Simon Tam, the surgeon. How badly damaged are Tavros' legs? How advanced are the prosthetics that you are making?

D--> They are unusable
D--> I will be completely replacing them with mechanical limbs
D--> I have done it before, but it was a rather hurried, slap-shod job
D--> I wish to do it correctly this time

How much of the legs would need to be removed for this? And how functional are the limbs, completely?

D--> All of them
D--> At least up to the hips
D--> The first time, he was simply cut in half at the waist
D--> But that c001d not have been healthy for his internal organs
D--> I will need a%cess to his spine, however
D--> Once they assimilate with his nervous system, they will feel as natural as his original limbs once did

How are you planning on constructing them? Have you made prosthetics before?

With electronics. And yes, I have, on multiple occasions. This will be the second set of replacement legs I have built for him. It would be exasperating, but it is hardly his fault that he was taken from farther down the timeline than I was.

I'd...like to work together with you on a project, then. I still want nothing to do with electronics, but...perhaps you can learn a bit about clockworking, and I can take some ideas from you...

I was considering the idea myself. I... noticed your leg. If you did not express distaste for my work, I would have offered.

I think it is better this way. I confess, there were a lot of things I overlooked with my initial attempts. I am speaking with Doctor Tam on the matter, and I am a bit... distressed.

[She's been upstairs, occupying herself with totally not even recreating her shipping wall from home.

Of course it's all on lame-o paper right now, but it will become a full-scale project once she acquires some paint.

Humming some random tune, she trots down the stairs and swings into the shop, skidding to a stop when she catches the sight of her moirail looking quite distraught and staring at his watch.]

E-Equius? What's wrong?

[Equius jumps when she calls his name, dropping his watch into his lap] O-oh Nepeta... I.. I may have done a bad thing.

[Eurgh he's sweating a lot. She grabs him a towel from the work bench before moving to sit next to him, frowning in concern.]

A bad thing? What did you do?

[Towel is muchly appreciated, and gets draped around his shoulders like a blanket. He's this close to draping it over his head, though. Soon as Nepeta sits beside him, he leans against her, his face dropping into her shoulder] When Kanaya and I replaced Tavros's legs... we could have killed him with our thoughtlessness. So many things could have gone wrong...

D-->I build robots
D--> Legs are merely a small se%ion of a larger whole
D--> The surgeon from the clinic will be assisting me
D--> Or I will be assisting him
D--> There will be significantly less b100d than before

They'll most likely get infected, or he'll bleed ta death, before ya can add anything back on. If it isn't killing him, ya should let them on.

D--> For a troll, being crippled is practically synonymous with death
D--> Were we to ever return to Alternia, one he reaches adulthood, he w001d be among the first to be culled
D--> With mechanical legs he w001d at least stand a fighting chance
D--> Not to mention, I have spoken to a medical professional
D--> He will ensure that nothing goes wrong with the proceedure

[He did not get all of that, but the reasoning sounds logical. which means that he can drop the serious and just go back to normal.]
