[The feed flickers on to show Axel lying down on a couch in the hotel lobby. He hasn't been doing a single thing for a past couple of weeks and to be honest it's starting to wear him down. Geez, he would have thought that there would be more interesting things to do. And when boredom hits, the questions arise, so you should know what that means by ( Read more... )

I love my parents. I love my country. But other people aren't capable of loving me, aside from my parents' obligation to do so as parents. Overall, I think it's a waste.

So you think it's a waste because other people don't give it to you?

More to the point, I think there's different kinds of love, and certain types of it are a waste.

The love I hold for my country is different to the love I hold for my parents. Which is entirely different to the "love" that the blind and idiotic public extends to 'beloved' celebrities that have done nothing to earn it nor do they reciprocate it.

Such a question out of nowhere, Axel.

What can I say? I like keepin' people on their toes.

I suppose so.

Mm, why the sudden curiosity, if I may ask?

Dunno. Was just thinking about it, was all. [As he says it, Axel glances up at the ceiling.]

I know that there's a bunch of definitions out there, but you can never know which one is the right one. [Pause]

So what is it for you?

Something people feel for each other, right? I think the dictionary meaning is... um, a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, like, for a parent, child, or a friend?

I've heard it's nice!

Well, I love my sister! By definition, anyway. And I know I'd be sad if, um, if she ever got hurt or left or something, but I've never loved anyone like people do in the movies.

In the movies. [Snickers] That kind of love is a little more dramatic than it really is.

[Wow. Quite the question, Axel.] The one about favorite colors was easier.

[One that you should very well know the answer of, yes?]

Come on. You can't be serious.

[A shake of his head at that.] No. It was.

[This might be Gilbert teasing. He's not often good at it, so bear with him. But he pauses for just a moment before adding.] Love means... everything.

Love is more complicated that colors. Interesting concept.

[Snickers a little as he waits for Gil to respond and then he raises a brow]

So it means everything bad, too?

Love…? It's something like a cloud, so beautiful and close. Yet so cold and just out of reach….

Mm. Poetic. [Chuckles] Now where did you get that idea from?

That's just my own humble opinion of love~ Love is something beautiful and passionate yet eventually it dies.
