Who: charilandry-npc & bound_by_this What: An unexpected rainy rendezvous. When: Friday evening Where: On the corner of This street and That Warnings: PG-13 Status: In Progress
The rain had drawn Chari out of hiding, really. It was cool and lovely, and she hadn't been able to resist. She'd even left the relative quiet of the park in favor of wandering through the streets.
Somewhere along the way, though, wandering had given away to what was a slow and whimsical sort of ballet, dancing, her arms held out as she twirls. She abandoned her shoes somewhere along the way, and was finding her way through some of the deeper puddles quite purposefully.
The simple white sundress she wore was soaked through, clinging to her. Her long blonde hair was similarly drenched, hanging in wet ringlets about her shoulders. Eyes shut, she hummed to herself lightly, lost in her own little world.
So lost that she twirled herself straight into poor Jack just trying to get himself home.
It was with a gasp that he'd caught the twirling figure in white, hands falling upon her wet shoulders to steady himself if not her as well. He heard the deep splash of water beneath his heel, but at least his boots were doing their part to keep his feet from getting soaked, thus far.
"Ah! I'm sorry- I should have been paying better att- ...Chari?"
Jack blinked at the dripping woman before breaking into a broad smile. "It feels like it's been a while! Goodness, you're soaked!" he said before realizing just how much so. Ah...that wasn't exactly the best thing to be wearing when out in the rain. Thankfully blushes in this light weren't as noticeable, but he ducked his head a bit anyway.
Chari's eyes snapped open all at once, and she blinked in surprise. "Jack!" She seemed confused for a long moment before a laugh bubbled up and slipped past her lips. "I suppose I am. It's raining." She glanced up, skyward for a moment, shutting her eyes and letting the rain wash over her. It wasn't long before she opened her eyes to regard him once more.
"It's been far too long, Jack." She stepped back, completely unaware of the fact that the rain had made her white dress a great deal more revealing than it had been when she'd put it on. "It's wonderful isn't it? I was hoping it would rain."
"Ah hah....yes, yes it is raining!" An astounding observation! Jack glanced upwards at the sky, running a hand through his bangs so they don't completely plaster across his face.
He nodded as he looked back towards Chari- something of a mistake as she'd stepped back just then. No lady in all her finery would be caught dead back home when the weather turned gloomy and wet. He caught himself staring- and clearing his throat, he began to shrug out of his coat before offering it to the woman.
"It is wonderful- I'd begun to think it never rained in this place, so it's a nice change."
