It was a different story for Les, although quite similar in terms of having an idea of where to go. The boy had wandered the city for the better part of his first day there, but he really had nothing to note save for what was apparently the center of the city, and that there was a rather disturbingly red river running through it ( ... )

Two fresh arrivals, two very different ways of thinking. Unlike Les, Castle still kept his gung-ho attitude about him. But as of now, he was still musing his thoughts aloud to no one. "Yeah, a great setup! But it would've been nice if I had a map..."

Luckily, he wasn't that far off to notice the other lone figure over yonder.

The twist of his mouth went back and forth between minor degrees of puzzlement and interest. Might as well make some small talk while they're both outside. "So! I'm guessing you're either in the same predicament as I am, or you're going to some hip teenage hangout that I haven't heard about yet." And this was said with a full-on Castle smile.

It soon came to his attention that he wasn't the only one standing out there. Slowly the boy lifted his head, glancing down the street towards the guy.

"...?" The words spoken to him made no sense that Castle could have been speaking to him in some foreign language. "...what predicament would that be...?" he asked, deciding that that was the important part of the sentence.

With that kind of response, Castle immediately chose the former conclusion and ran with it. "The predicament that suddenly takes you away from a world you once lived in, the train ride that leaves you stuck in a place that seems to be overrun with people who have also appeared from some...place, different from yours," he theorized. "Some come alone while others are brought in droves. Some take a while to get over the shock and probably start taking everything they knew for granted. And still there are others who adapt very easily to their situation."

He shrugged, raising his arms slightly with the movement. "Anything goes for being here in Ruby City. It just depends on how your own personal reaction."

Les nodded, although he hadn't received nearly as neat an explanation as Castle had, and nor had he really thought about the situation very deeply. Part of him still felt that perhaps he was in a dream. Still, he knew better than to delude himself with such a possibility.

"....I...think everyone's in that predicament, then. I haven't been here as long as some though..." he admitted. "...got here a few days ago.."

The boy looked around. It would probably be best to go somewhere that wasn't so out in the open if he was trying to hide. He paused, pointing at a building just a ways down the street. The library, wasn't it? He remembered poking his head in it briefly when he'd been looking around the first time. "...can we continue this inside...?"
