Francis couldn't sleep either, and - being a fairly religious nation - he decided to look around the church...not that he quite expected to find a hint of faith here. The coppery scent repulsed him, but he explored the dark church nonetheless, not yet noticing the other enter.

Odd finding someone else about at this time. Waiting to see if he'd been noticed, 'Shiki' began to walk again, more guarded. The floral scent from the other became more pronounced the closer he'd approached.
...children laughing, a large field in front of an old, abandoned house....
He stopped again, bringing a hand to his head as he grimaced. Closing his eyes, he waited a moment before looking back towards the blond-haired man. "Unusual time to be about," he spoke up, even though he was quite aware the question could be turned back towards him.

"Ah...oui. I was only looking around...and yourself?"

"The same, I guess," he replied, letting his eyes sweep the rest of the dark room before flicking back over towards France. Finally he stepped forward again, into more direct view of the other. "I thought a walk could help for a restless night."

"What ever shall I do?" he murmured softly. He was at loss, how to he keep his cover? He didn't want Xanxus to find out? He did not even hear 'Shiki' walking in his direction.

He blinked, then started forth again, more cautiously than he had been, but an easy shift, he found. What was he trying to do? He found himself asking that question; one way or another he'd possibly end up startling the kid, both unintentionally.

He sighed and continues to admire the cathedral. After all how was he supposed to know someone was about to scare the crap out of him?

"A little late, isn't it?" he noted flatly, keeping an eye on the pale-haired boy.
