His thick, fur-lined winter coat shielded him from the cold rather well, so whatever trick of perception may have been going on was lost on him entirely. Yet he watched, silently, shunning completely the food and drink that had been provided, while occasionally his gaze wandered up to the sky for the fireworks.

It was near to midnight when she caught sight of Xanxus, and she didn't say a word to him. There was nothing -to- say. She did, however, go stand near him, refusing to acknowledge that the urge to cry was slowly winning. She wasn't going to let it win out, wasn't going to let it cripple her ability to hold her head high. He didn't have time for it; she didn't have time for overly emotional bullshit.
She was blaming this on being stuck in a female body, and not looking back.

Silently his gaze swept over the rest of the place, searching. Not just the ground but also the nearby rooftops. Moments after he cursed himself for looking, eyes hard at the thought of who exactly he'd been trying to spot.
Emotional bullshit was something neither of them intended to take time to deal with.

She found a place to sit and rest her leg, the unbending false one stretched out in front of her. It was surprisingly comfortable. And...this was a New Year's party. It made her happy enough to be close to tears.

It also didn't take him long after that to realize Lenalee wasn't there. So after some thought, and knowing his sister as he did, he meandered about Ruby City in search of her. After all, there was no danger of her being with a boy, was there?
It wasn't long before he came upon the park, seeing Lenalee on the solitary swing. A faint, but soft and calm smile slipped onto his face as he quietly walked up behind her. His hands grasped the chains of the swing as he gave it a light push.
"Just because I said I would follow you most everywhere, doesn't give you license to just go wandering off anywhere without informing me, you know." Komui chided gently.

"How are you settling in, Brother?" She asked as she glanced back up at him with a smile. "I went to the market and bought some coffee that I'd be more than happy to make for you if you'd like."

Taking a breath, she called brightly; "Hey! Hey, Larxene! Hey!" This was accompanied by some frantic one hand waving as she smiled. "Happy almost New Year!"
