Theta was indeed unmistakeable even had there been a crowd. Settled on the top of her bobbed blonde hair was a top hat made from leather and riveted together. Strange brass glasses that had swinging magnifiers on levers cover her green eyes, though the magnifiers had been flipped away from her face to leave just the regular lenses over her eyes. She wore a simple latte coloured blouse, but over it were a heavy leather corset and heavy brass armour plates on her arms. She also had a cheerily coloured green cravat tied neatly around her neck. Several belts crossed round her hips, and from one of them hung a fancy looking gold pocket watch, while the city's 'watch' hung on the opposite side. Her pants had a very unusual cut to them, puffing out around the knees before tucking back into her tall buckled boots ( ... )

In the back of his mind Xanxus couldn't help wondering if any one person could be more british than this one. A bit of an exotic view himself, with the scars, the feathers in his hair and the most definitely unfamiliar uniform jacket draped over his shoulder, he acknowledged her greeting with a nod but decided against speaking up until he was closer.

"Same to you," he offered his hand. "Good to actually meet you." Or so he hoped, anyway, if this clockwork was worth showing up here for. "And since it looks like I skipped the introduction before, my name is Xanxus."

In contrast to her, he had no accent whatsoever. A deep voice, a little rough from tobacco and alcohol though nobody would assume as much at his age, looking little older than her if at all, and perfectly fluent in English though probably not quite as fluent in politeness.

No worries. We all have lives to attend to, ne? ^_^ ergaleomancer October 1 2010, 14:25:11 UTC
He certainly looked strange, but Theta wasn't against people that looked strange. Theta herself looked strange. She couldn't help but see the scars, but with a sense of propriety that in her world at least was clearly (and even stereotypically) associated with the English, she kept her eyes on his, not batting an eyelash or pausing to stare. She wouldn't have wanted him to stare at her leg, after all ( ... )

Usually, yes... ^^; variaswrath October 1 2010, 14:53:32 UTC
Her firm grip did not surprise him much, since this woman didn't look frail or delicate, in spite of her leg. Or maybe because of it, even, but either way it made craftsmanship his first assumption, especially seeing as she kept mentioning clockworks. He had a firm grip himself as well, though his hands were calloused from frequent use of firearms rather than work, but such a thing would not be so easy to spot with a mere handshake ( ... )
