Entrance and outside the church crimsonchainsaw August 6 2010, 04:12:45 UTC

Lenalee was kind of nervous and felt really REALLY overdressed in the crimson dress that she picked out for herself and dressed herself in. It held tight against her and she wondered if she might of gotten something too small for her. Around her bare neck she wore the necklace that came with it, the gems dangling near her collar bone and above her breasts that made her all the more embarrassed. She felt silly and thought she looked ridiculous.

Clearing her throat, she tucked her hair behind her ear, half of it tucked up behind some soft rose hair clips while her amethyst eyes blinked behind the butterfly mask she wore on her face to match. "I hope everyone really does have fun tonight." She said to herself while she fiddled with her hands.

"Lenalee-neechan!" Conan waved. Although dressed up, Conan was instantly recognisable. Never mind that his mask was still in his coat pocket; there were only so many seven-year-olds attending. "You look really pretty!" He paused, taking in the fact that she was along. "Your friends aren't here yet?"

From behind her mask she blinked her bright eyes when she saw him dressed up. A small smile tugged on her painted lips as she tilted her head. "Why thank you. You look very festive yourself, too." She complimented to the child.

Glancing up and around, she looked down at him and shook her head with a small smile that held a bit of sadness. Lavi and Allen were probably off on their own adventure...It seems until they worked out their feelings for one another, even after, she would be on her own for the most part. Kanda often disappeared ever now and then as well, and if she could do her part to keep bookman from asking too many questions to Lavi....well. At least she would be doing some good for her friends. Until then, she was on her own like this.

"I think they already went inside."

it's that one rave song that everybody loves and needs to dance to chrysophilist August 6 2010, 20:44:10 UTC
When she'd been a kid, Rikku had never been much of a great dancer. She was all knees and elbows and uncoordination whenever music started to play. She had actually spent as much time away from dance floors as she could. But after using the Songstress dress sphere for so long, she figured that she could do alright on her own. It wasn't that hard to memorize the steps to some of the special dances, and without the dress sphere they wouldn't put anyone to sleep or blind them.

Her body swayed with the music, her high-heeled feet taking small, precise steps. Her mask was still on, but she had mostly forgotten about it. It was easier to move in her dress, so she was definitely having an easier time with this than some other girls. But she was dancing with people she didn't know, had never met, and it was nice to just lose herself, to be another person for a few minutes. Tidus had talked about Zanarkand being the city of lights, a city that never slept, and she wondered if this was how he'd felt when he'd gone dancing. If he had--she didn ( ... )

Who cared about whether or not you actually had a date to a ball where everyone was going to be wearing masks anyways. Then again Dante wasn’t really going for the ball so much as for the party he was hoping would result, or at least Lady had said the interloper would show up and Dante wanted to have a few words with him again. As far as dressing up Dante would still stick out with his red coat though had taken the time to actually get a nice shirt to wear, solid black with silver buttons and a vine pattern stitched up one side of the front that wrapped around when it met the collar and almost seemed to attach at the mask. Anyone that knew Dante would be able to recognize him in an instant, especially after he opened his mouth ( ... )

She was really getting into it, yeah. When she heard a voice though, she was partially snapped out of her reverie, though she didn't lose her step at all. Rikku saw the mask before the rest of the face, and was impressed; it was definitely her kind of thing. She recognized the voice, though, but thought maybe it would be fun to act like she didn't. Besides, it seemed like maybe he hadn't recognized her either.

The blonde grinned and turned towards him, still moving with the beat. "Care to join me?"

Unlike a lot of grumbling she’d heard about it, Christine had been excited for the masquerade since the moment it was announced. Finally, some normalcy on Mysterious Planet Hell. She’d found an ideal mask almost immediately, and then a simple black necklace and earrings to match. It reminded her too much of masks she’d made and worn for Mardi Gras back home to pass up.

The night of the big party, timing issues meant she Christine either had to wait around for her friends from the Enterprise to be ready or wait for them at the church. Well, it wouldn’t take a genius to figure out a young lady like her would much rather wait at the party. So in her elegant dress, she went to the masquerade alone. There, she decided almost immediately that the bar would be good for two things: spying her fellow Starfleet personnel when they came there to drink their nerves and irritation away and possibly meet some new people. So, alternately swirling and sipping her drink, that’s where Christine would be sitting and waiting.

This was Conan's first visit to the cathedral and he wanted to investigate every inch of it. Currently this took the form of checking out the bar. The seven-year-old scrambled up on to one of the tall bar stools (almost as tall as he was) and balanced on it, peering at the contents of the bar.

It seemed to be well stocked, with an emphasis on the European mixers, although sake was represented too ... and was that was he thought it was?

"Baijiu too. Interesting ..." Conan said -- abruptly realising he had company. "Ah--"

There was something terribly sad about children in a place like this, that made Christine all the more determined to find a way out. She was a perpetual mother like that. But, at the same time, the little bar climbing up to the bar had a definite comical air.

"Hello," she said pleasantly, giving a little wave with her free hand.

Other rooms for other things~ crimsonchainsaw August 6 2010, 04:13:39 UTC

Slipping away from the party-goers, obviously not fitting in that well with large crowds of people, she made her way to one of the back rooms where a lot of the mosaics and beautiful art work seemed taken over by time and damage.

Her hands came up to slip off the butterfly mask from around her face, her fingers combing out the bits of hair that stuck to her face as she looked around the solitude with the music playing muffled in the background. Hm, it was kind of pretty back here.

Walking closer to one of the stain glass windows, she stared up at the moon as the soft light reflected different colours from the window on to her. It really was so pretty.

Smoothing her crimson dress under her, Lenalee took a seat down on the bench after she cleared some of the dust away and leaned back to the wall with a small sigh. "I really do wish Brother could of been here to see all this..."

Demyx slowly slid through the back door. There were loads of people, and he was starting to feel a little claustrophobic. With a sigh of relief he removed his mask, letting it hang around his neck. He leaned against the wall, his eyes closed as he thought about everything that was going on tonight. Everything was moving so fast it was almost intoxicating. Taking another deep breath, he opened his eyes, realizing he just unfolded his entire scene right in front of Lenalee. His breath cuts short, causing him to cough a bit.

"Uh...hey there. I thought I was alone back here..."

The cough surprised her from her thoughts and she stood up upon seeing him there, her mask still in hand as she let out an awkward bit of a laugh. "Oh! I-I'm sorry. W-Would you like the room to yourself?" She asked quietly as she looked around the dusty room.

"I thought I could catch my breath back here for a little bit." She said quietly as she glanced back at him. The colours of the stain glass painted over her bare shoulders and face, almost creating a mask itself on her. "There's a lot of people out there, aren't there?"

Standing off near the wall in his beautiful dress with a soft coloured mask that covered his face only partly. Those gold eyes were easy to tell along with the fangs that hid behind those crimson painted lips.

For a man, he sure cleaned up~

Gathering information was one of the main reasons why Rufus had bothered to come - The chance that the Interloper may come being the second. However, one of his ulterior motives had been to mingle with those he'd intentions of working with.

Grell, being both their gracious host and showing interest in either him or working for Rufus(One of the other, it didn't matter.) , was on top of the list of people for him to speak with here. It did not take Rufus long at all to find and approach the other.

"Our 'humble actress' certainly knows how to make herself stand out." He started as a greeting, blue eyes sharp with a hint of teasing mirth from behind his mask. "Are you sure you are not the leading lady?"

...Urgh, that was laying it on thick, even for him.

Well now there was a voice he hadn't thought he would hear. He knew that his lovely boss didn't take a huge particular interest in the Shinigami, but to play up the part...well that's what an actress was meant to do, wasn't it? Make him squirm until he eventually gave in~

Turning, Grell adjusting his mask just a bit to get a better view of the always handsome Rufus.

With a quirked eyebrow and a smirk of smugness, Grell fanned himself with a hand. "My my you do know how to make a woman swoon with flattery, don't you?~"
