It might be a nice night yet, Italy thought optimistically as he hurried down the streets, but he really couldn't appreciate it very much. The stars were nice and everything, but he truly didn't enjoy being out at night all alone in this place. There hadn't been anymore attacks by man-eating killer bees and he hadn't encountered the monsters from deep in the woods yet, but... A still somewhat unfamiliar city at twilight, with buildings throwing all kinds of creepy shadows, isn't the kind of surroundings he enjoyed.

No, Italy would rather get home, get some pasta, tease Lovino... He giggled.

His pace slowed as he approached the bridge. A shiver ran down his spine and he hugged himself. He loathed the river. A river of blood... It wasn't, he knew, but that was hard to remember. Italy's steps became sluggish.

He nearly stumbled over his own feet in surprise as he caught sight of someone sitting at the edge of the bridge. They weren't going to jump, were they?

"Ve!" he gasped, alarmed.

Italy just coos softly, he doesn't know what to say to make someone feel better who has lost his entire planet. It's simply incomprehensible to Italy. That would be the entire world full of nations! "Ve~" he says softly.

He is all too happy, really, to change the topic. "So you don't eat people, that's good! I don't like running for my life, see, and you seem like such a nice person, I wouldn't want to have to run from you! I'm very good at running, though, no one can retreat faster than me. But not eating any meat at all sounds boring. I wouldn't want to live without pasta with meat sauce!"

An entire world of nations and all of the people that lived in...err, by that nation, Spock supposed. He raised his brow a little bit as Italy ran with the subject change, babbling happily about it.

"My race is a peaceful one, you would not have to worry about me harming you, Feliciano." Spock kept up with Italy's ramblings, taking a moment to process what he was saying completely before answering. "Vulcans see no logical reason for taking another life for just the meat. There is no logical reason to forcefully take life to our race." He wasn't trying to convert the man sitting next to him, just telling him the facts of his race. After all, he was an alien with different customs and what not.

"You and 85% of Humans are all the same in their eating meat. I do not see myself ever living such a lifestyle."

Feliciano giggled. "You're silly!" he declared with a huge grin. "Food isn't about logic! Food is about eating yummy things because good food makes you happy and being happy is good for the soul!" He nodded solemnly in agreement with himself. "That's why pasta is so important! It's the best food in the world!" His nose crinkled and his eyebrows furrowed as a new, dizzying - and utterly wonderful - realization occured to him. "Ve~ it's the best food in the universe! Isn't that wonderful?"

Giggling again, he twirled around, whooping and laughing all the while.

Spock stiffened at Feliciano's words. "I am not silly, and it would appear that we have different views on food. I do not partake in the Human's way of eating meat as I do not see the point in killing another being to eat it, and you enjoy that."

Spock didn't know what to think of this person. He knew that he didn't like the way Feliciano seemed to unintentionally insult the way he chose to live, that was for certain. "Pasta is delicious, but I prefer fruit instead."

'Ve' Feliciano cooed. 'Fruit is nice I think, but pasta is better.' That was an irrefutable fact in his mind. 'My brother loves tomatoes, though. Do you like tomatoes, too?'

Spock was ready to move on from this subject, that was for certain. They seemed to be both rather stubborn on the subject of food, but the illogical antics of Feliciano could only be tolerated by Spock for so long.

"Yes, I enjoy the taste of tomatoes. They are a fruit."

"Oooh." Feliciano's eyes go wide in wonder. "I guess they are! I hadn't thought of that!" He beams, as if failing to realize this is a huge achievement.

He walked further onto the bridge and peered down at the water. In the dim light, it could as easily have been ordinary water, you couldn't really tell the difference. He, however, know what it looked like in the daylight and that made it hard to enjoy the sight, though Feliciano loved bridges. "Don't you just hate it? A river that looks like blood, it's awful! Who would think of such a thing?"

"They are fruits due to having seeds within the plant itself. It had been often confused as a vegetable back in the past...for my dimension that is." Spock said it as though it were common knowledge, which it probably was in his dimension.

Spock looked down at the river below, moving swiftly and quietly. "The captors of this universe, who seem to be rather sadistic to us, the captives." He looked up from the water. The Vulcan had been told it wasn't blood, but from what he was hearing from other captives in the city, it definitely was blood.

There was a lingering thought in his mind that hoped it wasn't filled with organs and bones as well...

Feliciano cooed softly in appreciation at Spock's observation about fruits and vegetables and seeds, though it went a bit over his head. If something was used as a vegetable, certainly that made it one? Oh well. Tomatoes were Spain's expertise, not his. Whatever the explanation, it had sounded awfully smart, Feliciano was genuinely impressed.

He wasn't quite so impressed with what Spock had said about their captors and made a soft noise of discontent. "Don't you think that's a bit harsh, calling them sadistic, don't you think? Nothing bad has happened to me or anyone I care about in this city." He sighed wistfully and a loving smile lit up his face as he thought of kissing Lovino, of being with his friends and making new ones, of being safe from war. "This is the happiest I've been in a long time!"

Spock felt like he could eat a salad now. He had postponed his evening meal for the day, wanting some fresh air and a walk first. The meditation here ont he bridge was going a little longer than expected, but at least he had company now.

"There is nothing exactly merciful pulling us from the dimension we are rightfully from and trapping us unwillingly here. We have no means of getting back to where we belong." Or supposedly belong. Did he belong on a ship full of Humans? He supposed that was where he was needed most due to the illogical nature they lived by. "I do not appreciate being pulled from the starship I was serving on to be put here in this city, and at one point, put in a Jurassic Era version of the park..."

He cooed unhappily. "Put like that, I suppose you're right," he said softly. He looked up from the water to gaze at Spock with sad brown eyes. "But... it's not that simple for everyone!" He hesitated for another moment, chewing on his bottom lip as he tried to figure out whether he truly wanted to elaborate. He didn't like to talk about sad matters, or serious matters at all. Keeping his thoughts to himself went against his nature, though. "I'm from a very unhappy time. There is war and I'm scared all the time, though my friends do their best to protect me. I hate war. Ludwig's always angry and stressed and Lovino's angry with me and our people are dying."

Feliciano tilted his head to the side. "Are your loved ones at home? I understand if you're angry. I was very upset with our captors, too, back when I was alone. I worried for Ludwig and Kiku and Lovi all the time and I felt very guilty that I'd been forced to abandon them."

Spock listened to Felciano talk about the war he was in, how unhappy it made him, and his friends. The Vulcan could somewhat understand the emotions that war caused. Nero had brought many of his own to the surface.

"I have no home any longer. The planet that I am from...was destroyed, along with any inhabitants that were on the surface. My crew members saved only five other Vulcans...elders I had guided out of a shrine. My father was one of the ones saved from the incident. My mother...fell before she could be transported to safety..." His voice sounded heavy, his mind playing back that memory of her falling, the ground giving underneath her feet and his mother plummeting into the abyss that the planet was quickly becoming...

Oh... Spock had mentioned that his planet had been destroyed, hadn't he? Feliciano had forgotten that in his excitement about pasta and tomatoes, he can't help feeling a bit guilty now. It had been horribly insensitive to inquire about his loved ones.

"Ve~" he cooed softly, at a loss what to say. He gazed at Spock for a moment longer with sympathetic, large eyes, then he darted forward, intending to sling his arms around Spock and give him a tight hug. Everyone knows hugs are the best medicine when you're sad!
